even with my voltages as high as others and my multiplier at 6x..I cant get 400mhz FSB stable. (just reboots) after a few hours not necesserily when under load. 8hrs stable at stock fsb though. any ideas?
 
Out of interest, which way do people update their bios?

I used the option in the bios from a USB stick, anyone had any problems using this?
 
i did'nt even consider any other orientation that the one mine is in - which is broadside facing the front so fan is aligned with rear fan. Is there any beneifit in mounting the other way?

Ive a p182 so an exhaust at the top of the case as well, either way suits me. Would probably degrade performance if youve no exhaust to point it at.

So it would be a 'waste' of money to get a X-FI xtreme gamer edition.

Would a Thermalright fit with the soundcard?? Or best to go with another cooler?

Hi, yes I'd sling the audigy, have a poor reputation, I'd also use AS5 for the HSF. Case is pretty, although the interior is Antec stock stuff, here is mine:

Will you need addition usb ports as there are up to twelve available with the maximus formula?

Does anyone know of good guides to overclocking for a first timer?

I want to go further then the cpu level up which is just up to 3ghz on bios 903 but also dont want to burn a hole in cpu.

Or does anyone have any settings they would recommend for my system?

Take at look here you best set your ram volts according to there rated volts but the rest should be ok , setup as that and run prime 95 for a few hours but watch your temps

I have overclocked purely by manually setting FSB to 400 multiplier to 9 and mem to 1066. Everything else is left on Auto. is there any chance of any "throttling" taking place or anything else detrimental?
