*****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

Hi , i loaded 0602 last night and seems good , ram seems a bit happier, dividers all seem to work as on 0505 one divider was broken

Got some cellshock 9200 coming today so will give that a try later and see if i came get some extra bandwidth.

whats the best chipset drivers for this?

(new to Intel chipsets)

also, what 4gb ram do you reccomend for this board?

I'm about 3 reboots away from putting my old 680i board back in, I can't seem to get this one Prime stable at anything but stock speeds and memory underclocked.

Using the 602 bios and I still cant run the ram at stock 1066 (Corsair XMS2 or Crucial Ballistix) when the board is overclocked. Still can't get past 450fsb.

I can't even run my ram at stock 1066 without lockups either, even with processor at stock.

fark it, I'm going to put my EVGA 680i board back in to see if it's any better and to rule out the other new components (new cpu/mem).

back in few hours with update. :)

WOW! this mobo miles better than my old BFG 680i, i could only get my q6600 to 3ghz on it, not 1 mhz over! on this mobo it's sitting prime stable at 3.4Ghz(60 degrees under load on air!) I'm using it with 4gb of reaper ram

Hi, Andyr, I've put in your settings and running a prime max stress, my core temps are hitting 79c on one of them. Do you think this is normal?
Thanks...

Bit high but if you have two gfx's in your loop then they will kick out a lot of heat into your water , are all cores within say 5 degrees of each other?
is that using core temp btw

Something to note which I've just found out. It appears that the motherboard temp sensor is right by or under the 2nd PCI-E slot. I took out one of my cards earlier having a play around and my temps were at 35c for the MB. I've just put the card back in and the sensor is now showing 49c.

Thanks for your reply andy. Yes I have the two gfx cards in the loop but have the rad after them in the loop before the water gets to the cpu. Yes they are all within 5c and I'm using core temp. It wasn't really stable then, I stopped prime as I was hitting 82c after about 30 mins, went into IE and vista bsod'd on me :(
Cheers..

Hi Chris try dropping down to 390 fsb might help both the bsod , which sounds like ram freq to me ,also will help drop those temps.
Could always sandwich that rad with two more quiet fans

Using the 602 bios I've got OCZ 1066 ram stable (at 1066) with the strap set to 333mhz and 400fsb. Isn't stable enough to load windows with the strap at 266 and the same settings.
