**Official Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Discussion Thread**

Hi guys

Anyone with an i& and UD5H OC'd yet?

If so, what are your clocks and what settings did you use in BIOS?

Lew

I just put the boost multiplier upto 42. Changed nothing else no need tbh. Been perfectly stable for 2 weeks now not had any freezes or bsod. Temps under prime max out 68 under intel burn max out at 75. I could push the overclock further and maybe make a lot of tweaks but honestly I see no need.

I have the samsung green ram did try and overclock it but gave up no matter what settings I used refused to be stable at stock having to use 1.55volts just to get it to boot.

Currently on the F8 bios

hi all

will this board run 3 x 6gb ssd,s in RAID 0 i would prefer a 1155 board that can run 4

It can, but,

2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (SATA3 0/SATA3 1) supporting up to 2 SATA 6Gb/s devices
4 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors (SATA2 2~5) supporting up to 4 SATA 3Gb/s devices
1 x mSATA connector
* The SATA2 5 connector will become unavailable when the mSATA connector is installed with a solid state drive.
Support for RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10
* When a RAID set is built across the SATA 6Gb/s and SATA 3Gb/s channels, the system performance of the RAID set may vary depending on the devices being connected.

Thats the native Intel ports provided by the chipset, there are also two Marvell SATAIII ports, but you cant set a RAID setup across them and the Intel ports together.

cheers Stulid

ive seen that the gigabyte sniper can support 4xssd on the marvel chip so can i setup
raid 0 from the marvell chip to use as my boot drives

Yes it can, four SATAIII ports from the Marvell chips.

Marvell 88SE9172 chips:
4 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (GSATA3 6/7/8/9) supporting up to 4 SATA 6Gb/s devices
Support for RAID 0 and RAID 1

I informed Gigabyte about my suspicion that the PCI X-fi card was the source of the lockups.

Here is what they said:

Hi,

We can get only one Creative sound card model X-Fi Xtreme Gamer, PCI audio card type.

We tested to play audio, connect to network and some operating conditions in Windows, so far there is no problem with the card installed.

We also tested Creatvie with onboard audio enabled to see if there is any conflict, no problem so far.

Please check:

- The suitable drivers is only listed in TW website, so that if you need to get one for your card, please contact with Creative local technical supporters.

- GA-Z77X-UD5H already support some Creative audio technology and some utility will be installed when using driver DVD. Please check if you already installed those Creative utilities. We tested Creative sound card model X-Fi Xtreme Gamer with those Creative utilities from driver DVD OK. However, we don’t know if it affect your Creative sound card. Please remove those Creative utility for further check.

I asked them to test the card during gaming as that is when it is stressed.

any help here ppl, tryed fde, which only gave me problems, unstable ect. went back to f8.
so yesterday tryed out FdE. this bios didn't seem as bad for me as Fde. but then started getting bsod, same msg all the time in blue screen "4E"
as far as could find any info on this msg,
"4E Test base memory from 256K to 640K and extend memory above 1MB with various patterns"

what this mean, how can i fix?

gave each stick quick 2hr test on test5, no errors, never had any errors with mem, have stable 12hrs oc prime, just when i have tryed these 2 bios i get problems. probs time to stay away from beta's :)

Does this motherboard still have an occasional bug with the Samsung Green RAM? or was it fixed in a bios update? as i'm looking to buy this motherboard for my upgrade, thank you for the help :)

One of the bios updates did fix it.

So now after a lockup (looping audio whatever), system refuses to boot into win7 except for safe mode. Gets to the welcome screen then goes blank, hear a clicking sound? (either my SSD or .. I don't know, usually I hear one click on normal boot and everything is fine).

System has been crashing/locking at an increasing rate lately (and a lot of graphics drivers issues) and it's just really exasperating considering how much money I spent on it.

Running F8 bios.

Anyone have anything I could try?

Managed to boot into W7 after completely removing graphics driver for gtx670, but as soon as I reinstall driver the crash happens again (I think it's a blue screen from the windows reports, but it doesn't actually show the bsod).
