**Official Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Discussion Thread**

You're asking in a UD5H thread which motherboard you should have for a 3770k? Everyone here is going to say the UD5H. The motherboard you currently have. Because we are all very happy with this motherboard and we don't get BSODs. You really need to troubleshoot your setup and Windows 7 install because it's most likely a driver issue and not a motherboard one.
Ok..I think I will keep this board and rather spend money for good graphics card.
now I dont have blue screen..dont know what was exactly problem before.

Guys i have a little question to a problem that happened yesterday.

My front 2 USB3 Ports suddenly stopped working.

I updated the BIOS and i installed the latest USB3 Intel drivers.

I am not sure as to what to try next so any suggestions would be grateful.

Yeah the board is terrible with USB3 port stop working most of the times. Except USB2. I think the USB3 had a problem lately. I did try updated new driver, new bios up to date but nothing was fixed. Microsoft told me to disable USB3 sleep mode to get it working properly. But I can't find where is USB3 sleep mode ?

Ok so i did some troubleshooting.

I moved the Case front header plug from F_USB30_3 to F_USB30_2

And now my two pen drives are working on the front ports.

Thanks for the tip Bulldog. I will look into where the USB3 sleep option is.

My guess it is the USB power saving option in the power options.
I have never seen a specific USB3 option i don't think

Consistency of a working USB 3 port from the front headers has always been a little iffy with this board (and the Z77 D3H). Sometimes S3 sleep (disabled for the ports) can cause an issue but usually, for me, it is the type of device - whether a USB 3 stick, card reader or HD which can cause an issue, or not.

I have changed the drivers from the MS ones for Intel, although I'm not sure that they will help.

Ive joined the Z77X UD5H club, not sure if i'm imagining things but the PC seems quieter with this board in and seems to be a lot snappier. My mobo before this was a Z77X D3H, that was a great board and i really liked it, i just needed more USB3 headers as thats restricted to just the one.

The LCD panel up the top is a nice touch, whatever it does :D Looking at the manual their are a lot of codes in the back, obviously its some kind of fault diagnostic tool, whats the little amber light for just under the PCI-E x 16 slot ?

The LED)
This is for people that are tinkering in the PC, doing some overclocks, adding hardware, and if the screen doesn't switch on due to some unknown reason, the numbers displayed on the LED will tell you what the problem is. Very helpful.

Amber light)
This shows you what BIOS is active. The UD5H has 2, standard, and backup. If you look closely you will see :)

Also joined the UD5H club, having issues with dual channel though, slots 1 and 3 fail to POST and slots 2 and 4 will post but give the occasional BSOD. Single channel works fine in 1 and 2 so im not sure whats going on.

You should use slots 2 n 4 for two sticks,

Make sure your using latest BIOS and x.m.p if your memory supports it,also manually set bclk to 100 and CPU voltage response to fast

Oh dear, things ive never done before  Time to do some reading! I will report back, thanks.

Well ive updated the BIOS to F14, the RAM in slots 1 and 3 will now post, but I get BSOD before it can start up. Slots 2 and 4 will boot and dont seem to BSOD yet, but Prime 95 instantly fails :( Edit - BSOD after posting this reply...

Going to try them separately and see if there are any issues.
