****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread****

Hi guys

I could really do with a favour from you 580 GTX owners!

I'm looking at upgrading (I'm currently mulling all the options from a 470 up to the 580)...for gaming I would like the extra umph but for my video work I would need the CUDA support of the 470 for Adobe Premiere CS5.

Can anyone who has Premiere CS5 and a 580 do a quick test for me please?

If you follow this Youtube link you can make Premiere CS5 take advantage of a 580GTX...apparently.

I'm on a lowly 8800GTX at the moment but it would be great if someone could test it for me and let me know how it goes, it's a really easy tweak and takes seconds to put back (not that you would want to if it works!).

Many thanks. :)

My friend flash the cards and now is back to 1.138 =))), He will flash them again with asus bios to have at least 1.213. So i really don't know how you manage 1.3vcore.

here is a screen shot of the max voltage you can go up to on any GTX 580 1.213V

will the price and availability of this card improve (for consumers) in the new year?
Not for some time. The only chance of that happening was if 6970 performed well. Now that 6970 looks like a GTX570 competitor I can see 580 prices creeping up. Much like what ATI did with the 5850 after realising the release price was too low and demand was so high.

Been playing with Metro2033's benchmark. It came as part of the last patch.

Sure, for the main part it runs very smoothly, it's one particular part that drags the scores down, in game it's very playable. I thought it'd be interesting to start using as I'm bored of Heaven and at least it's taxing like Crysis.

Hi all. I'm very tempted to buy a GTX 580 when they become more available. One concern I have is if my PSU (Corsair TX650) is good enough to power a GTX 580, or will I need to upgrade my PSU? Also, my CPU is an i7 930 @ 4ghz. I have no plans to go SLi in the near future, so if this PSU can power a single 580 with no problems then I shall commence my mission to get my hands on one. Thanks in advance for any advice :)
