Official iPad (2012 model) Accessories Thread

Seems like there's a few on Amazon but not many at all. There are other places which do the same thing such as http://www.wrappz.com/. If you want a seethrough one though you might just be better off with a back screen protector?

Any links to where you import them from? Is there no equivalent in the UK? I don't think I can wait multiple weeks as I am bound to scratch it by then.

Also I am not sure what you mean about the corners. Can you take a few pictures of yours?rp2000

You order them off the main Gelaskins website.

Here's a quick snap of one of the corners which shows how it fits around the switches, camera etc and how the corners work:

That looks fine to me, especially if I get a see through one. I am going to look around and see if they can be bought in the UK somehow.

Yep, I just want a plain piece of 3M one. Wrappz.com ones are £18 which seems awfully expensive to me. I guess I am paying for the customisation (that I don't actually want!) I need to look around and see if that is the standard price. Tempted to take a £5 punt on the plastic one Raymond Lin has in the other thread.

Anyone bought these before? The reviews seem quite good and £6 for 2 seems like a good deal to me. I would mainly just use it for Draw Something tbh.

£6 for 2, can't complain.. Think I paid £8 for 1! Needless to say it was never used and I threw it in as a freebie when I sold my iPad 1.

Be exciting, go for a customised one ;) I did on my iPad 1.... But then it was stuck in the case so I never saw it!

Where is the customisable one?

Is what I meant, a pretty colourful one ;)

I don't know if I am artistic enough to submit a decent design. I may just pick one of their pre drawn ones, at a later date.

For now I just ordered the Clear case that raymond Lin has, the Belkin sleeve/case and the 2 Capacative pens.

Either am I, I just picked a default one for my iPad from Gellaskins. It will be better when Amazon is stocking the pre-designed Gellaskins as the price is reasonable.

Ordered a skin for the back from here after reading a few reviews. I went for the type 1 in brushed aluminium, $22 shipped from the states.

Currently have a Belkin trifold folio which isn't bad, but I'm fairly careful with my gear and wanted something with a bit less bulk.

I would quite like to buy a new iPad... but where's the best bet to actually get one in store? Everywhere looks to be out of stock when I check online?

Can someone please recommend me a case? I really want a smooth looking one like the Belkin Verve but with sleep/wake up function.

Any help please?

You know I am right :p

I have the first iPad since day one and has gone through about 10 different kind of cases.

Apple Case
Twelve Twelve book case
Dodocase
Hard plastic case
Silicon case
Sleeve
Leather folio
combination of screen protection + back protection (hard or soft)
Smart cover + sleeve

Dodocase is cool and will get you LOTS of compliment but it is not durable, mine has a developed a crack.

The best one by FAR is the Apple case. I have had the original iPad with a screen protector on it with Dodocase for a while, it was fine but the cover of the dodo case makes contact with the screen and rub the dirt into it. The Apple case with the ridge sides doesn't do that.

The back only case for the original iPad doesn't give you a front protection (now it does with smart cover.)

Sleeve, of any kind, sucks. Why? Because you got to take it out to use it and when you do take it out, you are holding onto a naked iPad and whilst that is fine at home, it is not convenient on the move. i.e. on the train when you are reading it and the conductor as you for a ticket. In a hurry where do you put it? yes, back in the sleeve, but where is it since you are holding on the iPad? oh, yes, in your bag above your head racking. It is a big faff.

Back cover (£5) covers the back.
Smart cover - protects the front AND give you that magnet open feature and the folding stand feature

The ridge of the back cover on the side also create a tiny gap so the cover does not rub dirt into the screen.

In daily use. I just close it and it is covered front and back. I can put it down knowing it is covered, i can throw it into a bag not worrying about it be scratched. I can use it by just opening it. It is thin. It is light.

Back cover (£5) covers the back.

Which one ?

I think Raymond has the frosted one.

My Belkin sleeve arrived today. Very good quality, for £13. I should get the frosted case tomorrow as well, so will post a picture with it all together.

Is anyone using the Belkin verve Folio stand for iPad 2 for the new iPad? Im really impressed it by the quality and the stand is brilliant. I was worried that it wouldn't fit the new iPad but the staff in Comet ( am i allowed to mention them?) were adamant that it did.
