Official iPad (2012 model) Accessories Thread

My knock off £8 smart cover arrived. Can't complain! Does what it says The only thing is the lock feature doesn't work! But I'm not overly bother about paying £60 instead of pushing a button :P

Im getting the lexington - hope it arrives soon :D

I liked the lexington, very snazzy. but I'm really pernickity about adding size to my devices, I haven't had a cover on my S2 phone purely because I like how slim and light it is, any additional thickness makes it feel miles bulkier in my pocket ha.

Post some pics when it arrives and attached, really be nice to see how people's look once they are kitted up.

Looking like Colcasac for me, ordering in the next hour. Go for the Smart Feather later if I feel I want a more professional look to my container when at work :)

my zagg invisible shield came today, annoyed I had to buy the screen one to get the back cover, as I have no intention of putting it on the screen, smart cover and zagg on back kept my 2 in perfect condition, might consider a SGP for screen to cut glare

Does anyone have any of these and can tell me the quality of the leather? I know its cheap, but I dont want some plasticy feeling thing.

You'll be disappointed then as it feels more like vinyl than leather. They're still ok for the money but you're not paying premium money so you're not going to get Italian leather.

Because I'm awesome and a nerd, I'm working with Fatsac on a prototype 'Fatsacs for iPad' type thing. There doesn't seem to be any comparable products sold within the UK, so I thought I'd try and push to get one made!

Anyway, the idea will simply be a cushion/pillow/bag type thing that you can just plop your iPad onto in either landscape or portrait to give you freedom to use the iPad at a comfortable viewing angle with both hands when in bed/on the sofa, and, crucially when you're done you can just toss it into a corner as there's nothing to break.

Would that kind of thing appeal to people? Fatsac make amazing memory foam 'bean bags' which can be ordered in several fabrics in a variety of colours (you can also send them your own fabric) - which are all removable/replaceable, so you can get one and have your iPad one disguised as a matching cushion. :D

I've seen a similar type thing posted about in here somewhere. But a UK distributed Ipad Beanbag wouldn't be a completed bizzare purchase, I'd be certainly be interested.

Pricing is obviously a heavy influence on a product that whilst would convenient at times, might not be class as 'essential'.

Indeed. Profit relative to labour in terms of the sewing/materials is the thing for them, as well as size as there's a point where it gets too small/fiddly to be worth it. I don't want it to be too big, but obviously it needs to be self-supporting for portrait mode etc.

I guess the idea is a kind of comfortable, squishy, 'stuff into a travel bag/use in the car/train/plane, as well as home use, take anywhere' sort of thing, that works with any tablet, with the materials/colours choice leave some room for personal preference. Removable cover/fabric means they can be cleaned easily too. Obviously it's not as smart as a fixed aluminium stand, but you can't throw that across the room or just ram it into your bag.

Should be a fun exercise in making it functional, and ultimately even if they decide not to go with it I'll have a prototype or two to use.
