******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Hmm, shame the scout is only an add on to a base game package, and a little pricey at that.

I think I'll just wait and earn it in game instead. Certainly looks like it will be fun to fly.

Once it's in Arena Commander it may be added as a cross-chassis upgrade mate. At least that's what they said about ships added to AC, I personally think they probably meant the traditional Aurora, hornet, 300i, Freelancer, Cutlass etc and not the ones they keep referring to as "limited sales".

Voice attack bit's n bobs!
Get New voices for windows, very simple and easy to follow guide works a treat:
https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/147385/ I fully recommend
MSSpeech_TTS_en-US_ZiraPro sounds so natural!

next up we have a very decent profile courtesy of Cumbey on the RSI forums
https://forums.robertsspaceindustri...tack-high-end-profile-by-bantam-consulting/p1

It's massive and highly configurable, I didn't use all of of his commands but a few certainly helped which leads me to my profile if anyone is interested.

Quite a bit smaller and less bloated than Cumbey's , all controlling of ship (afterburners, pitch, rotate etc is manual) things like missiles, aquiring target, countermeasures, combat mode etc are all done via voice attack.

My profile requires US_ZiraPro but you can change everything to use the voice you wish.

Invites are fired out depending on your citizen number, not whether you'd backed or not. Stick your cash into Elite then, I've backed both but I'm waiting on Elite coming out before playing it at all.

Its fantastic, when it first came out there was a huge performance hit associated with using shadowplay but now its a few FPS difference. I recorded 32GB in around 45mins, everything came out smooth! I have it set to use the highest possible encoding it can use.

My only gripe is maybe there has been a slight loss of quality after using movie maker but I might tinker around with some of the encoding settings for that one, or perhaps it's youtube and it's poor streaming abilities unless your encoding in above 1080p.

Well, just found out the younger brother of a friend I went to school with many years ago works for Foundry 42. Small world :)

I’ll have to let him know I’m paying some of his wages :D

Have you tried using Handbrake? http://sourceforge.net/projects/handbrake/
Its very good, if you're editing and messing with the footage its no use, but for compression its fantastic.

I recorded a 2560x1080 iRacing race, 26min long and it was 70.6gb and i managed to get that down to 587mb (1360x574 - was showing it to a mate on his phone, so figured 1360 would be best for a 720p screen, they're 21:9 monitors)

I actually compress the majority of acquired movies using Handbrake, every few months, can knock a 10GB file down to 3GB without any noticeable loss of quality, so its great for films which are okay but not worth 10GB of space. I think it also compressed that 70gb race in about 1h on an i3 4th gen, films in about the same time, i just make a queue and leave it running for a couple of days and I can still watch stuff on XBMC without issue.

murah, use Handbrake for editing and encoding.
I use it and its so good.
You can check results on my youtube channel ( from ESO and MechwarriorOnline, so also cry engine ) - look up "BrakarAC". All vids there were made with fraps and edited woth Handbrake.
