******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Honestly, his whole reason that they took away co-op so can't play now is just dumb.

How was he going to be capable of flying anything effectively in SQ42 but then not do the FPS bit? Also FPS was always noted since early days to be part of SQ42 and yet he continued to pledge away.

Sorry but no sympathy.

In Star Citizen there is something he can do that isn't FPS also and that is part of the universe and nothing to do with SQ42 side.
article to me smacked of them having missed out on several other big "i want an SC refund" stories and ran w/ this to be part of the bandwagon. i've seen a few more legitimate gripe/refund stories than this.

Yup and have to love the disability and scared cards were played.

Just adding to my earlier post, while disability does make gaming harder it doesnt stop people playing. If a quadriplegic guy can play pubg and play it damn well then the disability card stopping him play doesn't cut it with me

Remind you of something?

Looks nothing alike

I’m still sure getting refunded by CIG is largely to do with how you approach them and that you treat them how you would like to be treated at work.

They were nothing but understanding polite and friendly when I got my refund that was over $2000 for them. I suspect if I gave them a bunch of jiff off the bat demanding it because they aren’t delivering and that their game is vapourware ect then wouldn’t have gotten my money.

Personally I don't think so, some are saying it has but I'm not seeing it.

Tried it two days ago and was getting 15-20FPS at Olisar. Then again it is STILL heavily server related so a fresh server should mean better performance for a period.

Has FPS improved yet? Feel like I want to try this again but DL is huge and FPS was horrible.

No, I installed it again yesterday and it's still a sideshow in places even with my 8700k and 1080 so it's been uninstalled again. As above Olisar seemed to be really bad where I was getting 10-15fps at 1440p.

However I did notice there are a few new ships to spend real money on so at least you can look at them in real nice detail at 5fps.

Some have been unlucky as ive seen fps as high as 80, but when a server degrades over time then its a very different story and as low as 15.

This, a fresh server will give me as many FPS as the GPU will push but it degrades quickly as it fills and people spawn their ships.

However on week ends i do spend a couple hours at a time in game and away from Olisar i'm pushing 30 to 35 consistently, other than sort 1 or 2 second dips to around 15 or less when someone spawned a big ship.

Giving this a try again in 3.2 to have a run around the 600i and I'm surprised how well it is performing compared with earlier patches. Even things like the hangar would be slow to load - now it's all pretty smooth, also in the PU.

Sure further performance improvements will help, but so far I feel (bugs aside) it's in a reasonably playable state.

Going to be interesting to see how salvage, medical, fuel refining and repair gameplay are added over the course of future patches. Mining already looks pretty good. Once those foundations are in place I think it'll get a whole lot more enjoyable rather than feeling there's not much to do.

I believe network bind culling etc still isn't implemented so performance is only likely to get better but yep bugs aside (& there are a lot of bugs, arguably understandably though) it is certainly a train now heading the right direction.

I found it a fair review of 3.2 and were we are atm.

From the comments in that youtube video:

May 25, 1961 - Kennedy declares his intent to get to the Moon in a decade July 20, 1969 - Nixon/Johnson complete Kennedy's dream getting to the moon in just 8 years, 1 month and 25 days

Oct 19, 2011 - CIG launches Kickstarter, just 6 years, 8 months and 19 days ago (by 7/8/2018)

Something tells me CIG isn't launching SC by December 14th, 2019, so this game will be in production longer then the Apollo program.
