******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

It's like Humbug says there are a few really annoying messages, performance isn't great.. Just feels half ****** to be honest. As lovely as it is and as much as I enjoy it compared to what I played weeks ago before it went to Wave 1 PTU this is poor. I'd personally if I was CIG dial back server size to 20 people again to begin with, I don't see the benefit in having 50 slot servers, maybe they are trying to show progress but to me it's a step back when the clients get worse performance partially due to that (somehow).

It'll be out by Christmas, although I doubt it'll be worth playing unless they have a few really good fixes already in the works.

it's a horrible feeling logging in and knowing your on a terrible server within 3 seconds. They really need to sort this before releasing further, it laughable now

Yes. They are done.

Look at this. According to the court documents, Crytek made all the Star Citizen demo videos the previous years! Including the famous ones in 2012 that launched the game!
They weren't made by Roberts and the "game engine" as he claimed on the videos.
But by Crytek using custom tools over the CryEngine.

this has been public knowledge for years, who do you think made them? CIG was literally 5 or 6 people post kickstarter and website funding campaigns. They had CR, his wife Sandi, Ben Lesnick and a couple of others.

^^ This is why TBH, It's not actually getting better over the past month and then they go letting everyone on which just makes it even worse as servers grind to a halt even faster.

It should have stayed in Evocati until the new year IMHO.

Anyone else just get a black screen when trying to load into crusader? Driving me mad!

Edit:
I left it running for 30min as went to do something else, came back and it was on, but it was unplayable couldn’t even press F to open the door, waste of bloody time. Guess I’ll uninstal it again and wait another 12 months for 3.1

Very disappointed

How much RAM do you have? Only heard of this happening on those with less than 16GB tbh. Worth verifying files but got my doubts that'll help :-/

Blizzard it's not going to be designed for use with services like Splashtop, although granted it's still classed as in-alpha so maybe that'll change when they sort the damn thing out.

If I were you I'd grab a refund now as they may not offer them in the future. You can always back if/when it ever comes out.

Guys is VR supported in this or do we know if it will be? Or would you have to rely on something like vorpx?

It worked in early versions of the Hangar module but since then seems to have been more or less ignored. They want to get the UI etc all working perfectly before they take it further although TrackIR support has been relatively stable for the past few patches so it's likely not far off if they decide to do it, however it's been said repeatedly that it's not a priority as so few backers have it at the moment.

You can feel the scale better than most games I've played and I think it's shaping up nicely. Still an insane amount to do though!

Love being the avatar and not the ship though, being able to get up and walk around and do things whilst someone else pilots is great. I never thought I'd prefer multi-crew over solo as I generally play solo a lot but this game makes me want to crew up.

So how does it actually work right now, you buy a ship from the site and gain access to the game, then do you get to keep that infinatly in the alpha/beta until the game is actually released or if it blows up is that it gone for good?
it's going to be really difficult to permanently lose access to a ship in game unless you are caught cheating. insurance will be cheap and you'll get reminded before taking an uninsured ship out of your hangar.
