Its still a very good looking game full stop, for what it is its still awesome.
People are looking at Starfield and thinking that's the new benchmark for this sort of game.
A few things about that, Starfield is not this sort of game, when you select a place to land and lock it in on your far better version of the star map what do those same people think is going to happen? I'll tell you what if think will happen, it will go in to cut scene of you landing, no atmospheric flight, no ground vehicles, no way at all to travel far from a designated landing zone.
Because the planet is not a physical ball in space, in real time real space, if you know what i mean, where you land is a procedurally generated block of land a few dozen if that KM, its not the same thing you're apparently looking at from space.
And while some of the shots seen in the demo looked gorgeous, high res textures, nice lighting, this is nothing CIG couldn't do with a relatively straight forward update, higher res texture just means you'll need a GPU with more VRam, but from a dev pint of view its fairly easy to do, BTW Starfield will be heavy on VRam, expect 8GB cards to not like it.
The lighting, that requires more work, but CIG are more than capably of it.
Lastly, i was not impressed by the level of detail and quality of the 3D assets in the city they showed, IMO cities in Star Citizen look much better, the ships and ship interiors, in Star Citizen those things are on a completely different level to Starfield, as is weapon modelling and detail.
I can't remember which official video it was but there was a question about higher res textures and 1 of the devs said they are ready but they want to wait for both Vulkan and server meshing and then the optimizations for both before implementing them otherwise performance would tank.
