******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Seems finding the gold tickets is a piece of cake. People on reddit finding 1 or even 2 in the first bunker they went into. Mate of mine found one within an hour, so can now buy one for £260.
If they let the ship become widespread through the player base they're going to have to nerf it, it'll ruin the PvP meta. Seems to be as agile as the light/medium fighters, whilst having the shields and armour of a Vanguard, all whilst having the most dps of any ingame fighter.
It was always going to be broken when they first released it. Need to get those sales up for the meta hunters on top of the collectors. :D

I'd like one but I'm not about to buy it with £.

The shocking thing about the F8C is that it's the civi version, the military one has +1 to gun sizes, so size 4 and size 3, along with a larger missile arsenal, in combination with 4 S1 shields and very high armour (for when it matters in the game). No wonder it's the primary combat ship in the military and the main focus in SQ42.

Golden tickets seem easy to come across and I handed mine in last night. Not had a chance to use the free rental for much though. It's just a tad insane with what the ship can do. Stock loadout is rubbish though.

Had an amazing org v org ground fight. 40 vs 30 something. We had the lower numbers but claimed victory even with the lower numbers ;) Importantly though it was a great evening with loads of back and forth over the objective. FPS has been improved since last patch but it's still a bit iffy. Have more problems with nades and inventory though.

Sorry what, they have made an event to allow you to buy a ship for £260, WTAF
I think that's a cool idea tbh.

The gold ticket is not the cool part of the event. It's the platinum ticket that once you grab one from a cig player, there's a server wide beacon on your head and if you are successful in turning the platinum ticket in the ship rental, you get the ship for free...

Cool idea poorly executed, yet to see the event on any EU server and I played every day since the announcement during peak times.

The only event I've seen so far is on the US servers often late at night during the oral time of the east coat, where coincidentally CIG are based. Getting into that events server is next to impossible as the second it's known about streamers and orgs pile on filling the server up in seconds.

As for the F8C, not at all interested in a £260 ship, considering it's going to be nerfed soon it won't rule for long.

Cig are not just based in the US.

They are based in Germany and the UK to be exact.

I have not come across the event myself but I have not played it all weekend as I been sim racing.

Its a good even because it opens the doors to other ships they can add as part of the platinum ticket even.

Things such as having one for say a free lti cutty black or free A1 sprint or even a free dragon fly etc etc.

It has potential

just had major glitch on tau ceti when collecting a power, came out used the time slow down power and it was an endless thing, couldnt fire any weapons but could throw nades i was up in the air looking down just throwing the nades as only way to kill that starborn that appears, 10 plus mins was trying to sort it, in end had to reload the level captured some of it, but atm in middle of downloading forza

It does look cool, i like the way the ends of the wings fold up, V-Tol, like the A,M, and C2...

Its like the MSR should have been (see my sig) its less "fat" if you squash the MSR it would look more like the Spirit does.

And on the events map, it's been updated to show a welcome to pyro at the top left.

I reckon it's a 4.0 build of sc that people there will be able to test out and play.
I don't expect any 4.0 build for almost a year. They appear so far away relative to getting 4.0 even from their positive monthly reports. I expect it will be a vertical slice build of Pyro we can travel around with a couple of missions shown.

Or even utilising the arena commander front end to drop into relative planets. The server meshing tech for 4.0 even running locally I can't imagine is there yet and then add there is possibly 90 PCs with 3400 people at the end. That's going to be difficult to get people into a proper build and actually do anything.

After they said they can pull out planets etc pretty quick from the PU then no reason they couldn't do similar for Pyro and a Dev build specific for it.

Maybe not a full blown 4.0 build but an instance of pyro loaded up for u to play.

Saying that, I dunno how they can do that in a exhibition convention where you only get maybe 10/15mins to demo something and you be spending that amount just grabbing a ship and taking off out of the hanger lol.
