They only did a database reset on short term items (your ammo/consumables etc) everything else is persistent. I personally kept all ships, upgrades/components, armour, weapons etc.

Performance has improved slightly as well, specially in new babbage which during the PTU went from being a slide show to exceeding 60fps (100fps+ with AFMF) at most times.

The Syulen looks very cool and will sell very well. Flying it will be the same as everything else apart from you'll land vertical. Roughly Titan sized I think, although it doesn't seem to have a cargo bay so I think the Titan still wins from a gameplay pov.

Hearing mixed things on performance of this patch, few of the guys says they've seen a hit. Not sure if they simply need to clear the shader cache though.
 
These are my favourite two ships though most of them are cool af. I will personally not be buying any ships for real money, I like targets to work towards in game even if they take ages or may even be out of reach for how much I play. I miss that about old MMO's, you had to accept that some things (just like life) were unobtainable unless you put the effort in.

BTW, do any of you superfans subscribe? I see the benefits are mostly for testing stuff rather than getting to keep anything.

I'm one of the rare people who would say "go buy a ship that u like now" camp because currently the game as you know is pre alpha and that will mean that ships you buy in game can get wiped between patches.

If the game had no more wipes I would be fully on board of not pledging for ships.

If all you had was a mustang starter ship I would at least pledge for something a little bigger and versatile like a cutty black.

Let me add a bit more* I am comfortable with how the wipes etc work, I am talking more when we get beyond alpha to dare I say...... release! Also from what I see, neither of those ships you can buy yet as they are concept. Get your logic though. Yeah I got the cheapest package initially, are all the skins obtainable in game or are they only for real purchase?
Just downloading the patch, aim today is to see one of the other cities I haven't visited. Also realised I don't even have a headset such is my solo way of life gaming. I do still have my vmoda boompro mic, so if I buy my favourite headphones again (AKG K712) then I'd be up and running. See what deals if any come along this month.

Most skins are only obtainable in the pledge store unfortunately.

However, you do get free skins if any of your pledged ships are one of the top 4 ships from the annual ship showdown contest they do once a year.

The 2nd ship in your post is already released called the A2

Ah ok, I was on the 'ship upgrade' section on the site but it doesn't show on that, so does that mean can only obtain in game? Which is fine btw. Also, do you use your joysticks all the time for playing or do you sometimes fly with m+kb?

The A2, second ship in your pictures is around 5 Million aUEC, you can buy it at Area 18 on ArcCorp or the Crusader Showroom at Orison Crusader.

The first one is the RSI Galaxy, its not currently being worked on, the RSI Polaris and the Zeus Mk II are, other then the Galaxy there is one other RSI ship in concept that isn't currently being worked on, the Perseus, its the one i really like.

Once they have finished the Zeus Mk II and the Polaris they will start either the Galaxy or the Perseus.

I maintain the Galaxy is #1 but yeah that one looks great too. I really wish I had some idea how long my hardware is going to take to get to me from Virpil, sadly it could be 4-6 months.
Gaytack cool but looks a bit too alieny for my taste.

Edit: Nice, had to create a new character so I could select a new location off the bat :)

If you open the console and enter r_display 2 (1 gives less info) and check for BwIN. If that's dropped to 0 the server has died, died. :)

Not sure about the brightness, hard to tell from screenshots with the giant glowing hud in your face. I've not noticed it as such but lighting is a bit different in 3rd person due to the view position.

Orison is nice compared to Area18 or whatever it was. Think I might move here irl.

haha good spot, sorry about that. I'm too used to typing r_di and then hitting tab so it auto completes. :D

I've got a few vehicles now but most came from referrals that I got using google adds with my code and didn't cost much. The two ships I currently have is my starting Avenger Titan (love it) and a Gladius light fighter. The Titan lets me do all the low level mission types, be a troop transport etc. And the Glad lets me do loads of combat stuff if I'm not borrowing a ship, being a turret gunner etc.

I am very tempted by the Spirit or Zeus though. I held off on the Spirit originally as I was really hoping they'd make the cargo bay / ramp was large enough to take a tank or the Storm; they didn't. After trying out the Spirit A1 (bomber) I'm sorely tempted, not sure if I'd replace the Titan for it though. I need something with a bit of cargo for moving things around, collecting gear, daily driver etc. And I need combat ships. Smaller ships are easy to buy in game so the medium sized ships seem great to me, I want more of them.

I still love the Perseus, a proper destroyer / frigate :D

Lol no problem, figured it out. Weird thing, since the patch I have regained some armour that I died in before but didn't have my weapon and stuff I purchased when I was alive before the patch dropped lol.

Just had a mooch around a crusader, pretty cool, can't figure out how to get on the A2 though lol.

That new Gatac ship looks pretty interesting. I like the stark design differences versus everything else in the game right now.
I do think the sit down animation is pretty jarring though, sit down and immediately get spun around 180 degrees whilst tilting back 90 degrees. Why have the 180 degree spin, it just looks jarring!
