******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

FML I actually spent like 2m deciding which burger to buy.

How come you always log back in your apartment? If I fly to another planet and log off I'd have expected to wake up there too, every time it happens I have to go retrieve my ship and effectively start again.
Gave up with delivery missions, the package would fall out of the cargo hold every time after I placed something in it, I guess I'll try a combat one.

Go to a station e.g. Seraphim, Tressler etc and log out there - generally far faster to leave than a planet. You should ideally set your regen location there using a terminal in the medical area (around the corner from reception usually to transfer location from home city) after that if you die you'll respawn at the station.

If you want to log back into your ship you need one with a bed and it's not 100% reliable, generally best to log out in space too by lying down in the bed and choosing to log out.

That was fun yesterday, went to the hangar, went through the elevator and immediately fell through the fall and into nowhere land and died. Respawned in Hospital but couldn't find my gear

Managed to grab a coffee and have a shower and still have time left during my QT to see Hurston.
Good time to play Mario on my switch in-between

Oh and QT put me 1200km away from my destination so that's another 5+m travelling in a straight line lol cam I doing something wrong or is this just the nature of the game? Edit: The city was on the other side of the planet lol.

Well I learnt why it's not always a good idea to put cruise on and do something else, ship ended up stuck in the ground, I got out of it and was able to walk on the underbelly where I noticed my poor weapon that fell off, then I contemplated life and if I should just jump or not.

One get a faster QT drive, what ship is it maybe i can advise on that....

Two, normally you can QT to you final destination even if its only 100KM away, unless you get one of those missions where there is no marker for it, like a crash site or abandoned outpost, them you look for the nearest point you can jump to and fly the rest of the way.

Usually if you press B to bring the jump drive online you get visualised points that you can jump to, or you can try setting it in the.... ahaha.... hahaha HAHAHAHA..... Starmap (Quick access key F2) i'm surprised you haven't mentioned the glorious piece of _______ that is the Starmap yet, bad isn't it? Its so bad, even one of CIG's principle devs (Todd Pappy) has said when asked about the new Starmap of the one we have now "The Starmap needs to burn in hell....... deep deep hell"

No never do that, the sticks will make the game way more fun, you can always buy the bigger ships in game.

Try it first, you can rent it for free in game, it's a unique ship for sure, but it takes some getting used to the 90 degree offset for flying/landing.
I would but I'm away well over a week lol, can just go for it. At worst I can just swap back lol

Is there a faster way to get to the other side of the planet? I jumped out of QT and ended up at the other side of the planet but i wanna get to Lorville! Currently just cruise controlling it over there at max speed...

If you're in orbit of Hurston you should be able to jump directly to Lorevill even if it on the other side.

If Hurston is on the other side of one of its moons the Starmap being the piece of _____ that it is can't always calculate the rout, So cancel whatever you have set in the Starmap, press B to spool up your drive and look for the OM markers, use those to traverse around the moon / planet until you're on the other side with Hurston in view, for example.

@humbug bog standard Mustang at the moment. It's going to cost 20k credits to repair it which I don't have so I assume I should just destroy the ship and myself and go claim on the insurance.
Yeah the star map is so bad I prefer to just go into QT mode and hunt for the desired icon around me lol. If I zoom in too much on it the whole thing vanished.

Pm me your game tag

For context Zenduru is a loot monkey, he can't help but loot every loot box and every dead body he sees, to save time sometimes he uses the tractor beam to pile potential loot bodies in to the back of my ship, (yes it's very morbid, get help....) to loot on out way to the next mission.

At the end of the night we went back home to Seraphim to end the night, as i landed in my hanger to space police rolled up and scanned my ship, they found Zenduru's collection of dead people in my ship and weren't too pleased, they gave us all a crime stat, luckily they stopped short of giving us a custodial sentence, probably because they were dead bad guys and slapped me at least, dunno about the others, with a 40,000 aUEC fine.

Zenduru... your mess still in the back of my ship...... :p

Size one QT Drive, its either a slow drive or a fast one but with unacceptably low range.

Well i made it, ended up just flying there and absorbing the views and the clouds. Got there, couldn't find a landing spot or where they said i could land (doesn't show up on hud) so just parked it at the nearest station that i could access and left it .

@Jay85 This is a quick dump of a vid of me arriving via QT at Microtech, then targetting and QTing to New Babbage. Still processing so quality is a bit potato. I arrive at Microtech about 1min 50 secs in.

Like humbug said, you can QT straight there like any other location :) The spaceport landing zone/hangars is in the illuminated rectangle in front of the massive sloped building.
