******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

cool thanks, yeah i think i heard that too...... alas generally the golden rule of VR if it is to work well is to have it at the back of your mind when designing things, not try and add it later to a fixed game, so i am really worried about this to be honest.

about 3 months ago i tried to get a refund. (note i am not raging or anything) The game could well be a huge success but it isnt the game that i backed, its scope is amazing if they pull it off mind you, but the 3 key features for me were VR , coop play in squadron 42 and the PvP slider to remove pvp unless in un regulated space.....and two of these are definitely gone and the other one coming after the rest of the game is made.

sadly i missed the point at which refunds were being offered so i just follow very loosely from the sidelines.

I don't remember the slider ever being a guarantee of no PvP. It was meant to reduce it, nothing more.

VR has been there since the start but honestly remains such a niche I can't see it being a priority these days. It simply hasn't become mainstream and shows little sign of doing so anytime soon.

I see ED and SC (and SQ42) as very different games in the same genre. Bit like Colin McRae Rally and F1 are both racing games.. and stuff I like but I'd struggle to compare them except superficially e.g. they have vehicles with 4 wheels you drive.

SC will play hugely differently, already does and as a kickstarter backer of ED I can honestly say I haven't loaded it in a couple of years but I log into the SC alpha/techdemo/technicalmess regularly - so SC simply interests me in a way ED doesn't. Each to their own.

No I'd still suggest getting Elite: Dangerous at this point. SC whilst getting there still has a long way to go before it's really got a gameplay cycle IMHO.

Having said that if you think you'll buy in regardless, this is the cheapest you'll get SC for a while: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Packages/Aurora-MR-Pack-Warbond-Holiday-2018

There is a mustang pack but it's sold out. Aurora is a cool little ship though.

Hi
I have a quick question for all you guys following closely.
The squadron 42 which comes as a standalone for £50 ish.... Is this the same squadron 42 that I will get with my $65 (iirc) pledge from back in 2013 or is it the complete squadron 42?

Iirc my package comes with squadron 42 part 1 but not part 2 or 3.

I am just wondering if this is the case or if things have changed now?.... And what is it the standalone S42 comes with?

Thanks

It should say in the package details in your account: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/account/pledges?page=1&product-type=game_package

Backing back then it's most likely you got both Star Citizen Digital Download and Squadron 42 Digital download so both games, few packages were around at the time and the games were still considered a single item from memory.

Watch out for a player in the community called A_Z easy one to remember he is incredibly toxic haha

spoiling for an argument every chance he gets

only really applies to those that play frequently :)

I turn off chat in game most of the time unless it's evocati patches. but rude on my part tbh a habit I need to stop!

I tried to land at Lordvile the other day, but I couldn’t find where to land, is there a landing pad???
Where do I purchase a greycat in game? I just upgraded my Mustang to the Titan Avenger. If I were to buy a GreyCat either in game or via the website, where and how do I spawn it to store it in my Avenger

Cheers guys

It's a bit of a science.. Only done it a few times myself and the reclaimer went in squint lol BUT IT WENT IN!

I have been trying to put my finger on what i dislike about the handing of the ships ... and it just hit me on the head and is obvious.

intertia....... or rather lack of. there is no feeling of "weight" (would mass be a better term?) to the ships imo and that video above in #10241 shows it perfectly.

I think it's more than just the flight mechanics. I'm use to HEARING the ship feel big, if that makes sense? Also thrusters tend to automatically counter balance and slow you down unless you are in decoupled mode, that's handy but does mean big ships don't feel like big ships at times. You don't really get that in decoupled mode.

do you think that stance on a random thread of a random forum will achieve anything, or do you just like to do that kinda thing, for whatever reason you deem worthwhile? if it's that important to you why not do something a little more productive about it? see if Smart needs a blog mate, for instance.

Agnes's entire history on these forums is one sentence nonsense, not worth bothering with. It's not as if they contribute in any useful way to conversations about the topics they participate in, but that's just my opinion and I'm sure it won't tickle anyone the wrong way.
