Android is a horrible piece of **** and the only reason it has such a big market share is because it's on practically every smartphone from £50 and up.
Don't hold back...
As for the last part, very true.
wow. the aggression on some people on this forum is the reason why this place may be going downhill. So someone posts suggesting something and instead of being polite and come at your reasonings in a polite manner you instead go aggressive on me?
why? what did i do to make u upset? Also, android is not bloated. i think its u who dont know what u are talking about.
Android runs each process on its own seperate vm scaling its heap size memory based on available memory on the device/machine. if too many applications are running, it will kill the least important process/component to free up memory making the overall OS run snappy at all times
Firstly, if you write 'u' instead of 'you' it makes it hard for people to take you seriously. This adds a negative tone to your posts. It's not much effort, is it?
Secondly, Android isn't nearly as 'light' as a custom made OS just for gaming and basic social media use would be. Android is a fully fledged, fully capable operating system.
To imply it's perfectly stable is ridiculous; it isn't. I've owned loads of Android devices and the very nature of them means they will have stability issues, and they do.
Do you think Sony are incapable of getting something like Angry Birds onto the PlayStation store if they wanted? No. They could do it easily, they don't need Android for this stuff.
In the case of consoles, a custom made OS is always going to be better for the reasons already outlined to you. If you can't accept them then that's your problem.
To keep it simple: even with restrictions in place, you'd end up with people hacking the console left, right and centre which would create piracy/media problems.
In short, locked-down reliability > open source madness. It's just such a terrible idea on every level.
