Playstation 4 being announced February 20th?

How well is the vita doing? :P hehe.

Vita would have probably done a lot better had it used android and able to access and play all the android games from the device.

What android games are worth playing?

The Vita is a good handheld, the only reason it isn't doing well is because of the lack of good games. Terrible touch screen android games wouldn't fix that.

I'd honestly love to see you pitch this idea that the playstation 4 and vita should be based on android systems to Sony. Honestly, I'd pay good money to see it.

Did you completely ignore the part about the Vita? Android is a mobile OS and Sony excluded it from their own mobile gaming device so why would they put it on their home console? :p

YOU TWO SHUT YOUR MOUTHS. RIGHT NOW. ZIP IT.

Clearly the answer to all of Sony's Vita woes is to redesign the software to be based around an android system so people can play angry birds .

It's so genius I don't know why Sony didn't do it in the first place, they should hire jonney_joop. I think the world under appreciates your genius thinking.

angry birds and temple run lol :)

Loads of people like these games though and having it available on the vita via google marketplace would be awsome

Or they could just play them on their phones? I highly doubt Sony would be okay with putting the Play Store on them either considering that would mean less money for them.

fruit ninja is epic! :)

It's ok to pass 2-3 minutes of time sure.

It however isn't comparable to a game like Heavy Rain.

Yup. If I wanna play Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds or anything like that then I'll do it on my phone. If I want to play a proper game on a handheld then I'll play MGS or something. They can both co-exist there's no need to put Android on a Vita. :p

Android is a horrible piece of **** and the only reason it has such a big market share is because it's on practically every smartphone from £50 and up.

Apple are doing THAT badly huh :D

(250million iphones sold upto March 2012, obviously a fraction of this number are live now, but even so)

Point I was trying to make was Android is bound to be very popular due to being available at virtually every price point whereas Apple only cater toward the premium price bracket, this isn't on topic but then we weren't the ones who randomly decided that Android on a Playstation 4 would be epic. If this isn't what you meant anyway then please forgive me, I'm off to bed now. :D

Don't hold back... :p

As for the last part, very true.

wow. the aggression on some people on this forum is the reason why this place may be going downhill. So someone posts suggesting something and instead of being polite and come at your reasonings in a polite manner you instead go aggressive on me?

why? what did i do to make u upset? Also, android is not bloated. i think its u who dont know what u are talking about.

Android runs each process on its own seperate vm scaling its heap size memory based on available memory on the device/machine. if too many applications are running, it will kill the least important process/component to free up memory making the overall OS run snappy at all times

Firstly, if you write 'u' instead of 'you' it makes it hard for people to take you seriously. This adds a negative tone to your posts. It's not much effort, is it?

Secondly, Android isn't nearly as 'light' as a custom made OS just for gaming and basic social media use would be. Android is a fully fledged, fully capable operating system.

To imply it's perfectly stable is ridiculous; it isn't. I've owned loads of Android devices and the very nature of them means they will have stability issues, and they do.

Do you think Sony are incapable of getting something like Angry Birds onto the PlayStation store if they wanted? No. They could do it easily, they don't need Android for this stuff.

In the case of consoles, a custom made OS is always going to be better for the reasons already outlined to you. If you can't accept them then that's your problem.

To keep it simple: even with restrictions in place, you'd end up with people hacking the console left, right and centre which would create piracy/media problems.

In short, locked-down reliability > open source madness. It's just such a terrible idea on every level.

I can see Android on a mobile gaming handset (not that I think that market has a greatr future, mobile phones are rapidly overtaking them) Last month was the first time IOS and Android games have outsold Vita/DS etc apparently. Considering how well the DS does, Vita must be well down the pile....

...but suggesting it should be on PS4 is stupid, the only possible pro I can think of is to make it a better media box. Sony should be able to do that themselves though if they just pulled their finger out.
