Since when did I say anything about what generation it was? All I said was Nintendo could have released the wii-u whenever they wanted and it wouldn't affect sales of the Xbox/PS. They'll always be considered separate by the buying public.

That's all I'm saying on this subject now as it's starting to stink of nerd-pride.

Even before the specs were touted its obvious where Sony and MS believe gaming is going, or my own interpretation of it, anything Sony do to attempt to make multiplatform gaming a level playing field is a great bonus, but to not think that their entrenched shared values like developing first party games (ala Nintendo) wouldnt already make me slightly more interested in what they are releasing brands you somewhat naive.

Ultimately if the PS4 launches first, I wont be buying it until way after the next Xbox is out and make my informed choice then, I have zero impulse in being a launch owner, and considering Ive never done that in the past, its not too difficult for me to wait and enjoy what post-launch titles do to that potential decision.

Gaikai seemed to be less connection dependent than Onlive, though both needed a lot of work and investment on. Gaikai definitely seemed the most efficient so its definitely interesting what Sony will do with it, especially with Sonys interest in MMORPGs.

Hopefully demos would be hosted on Gaikai instead of downloading them.
 
This is possibly running on one of the new consoles !!! taken from another forum so credibility is pretty much 0% BUT it does look amazing.

watch in full screen and 720p to get the best.

imo Next gen is the next one to be released, once its available for purchase it becomes this gen

Thats how Ive always looked at it for right or wrong

Obviously this becomes a little complicated when one manufacturer has just released something, another isnt due to release for months /years but this is a short time frame compared to how long each is actually on sale.
 
Any leaks, apart from the controller pictures? Normally this close to a new product being announced/demoed we would have more leaks!

This was from the E3 build last year (I think) and was confirmed to be running on a high end PC (although this game is highly likely to be nextbox, ps4 pc game anyway!)

While not really a leak, there's been a lot of talk about the PS4 being able to stream PS3 games using Gaikai for backwards compatibility the past couple of days. I'll probably keep a hold of my PS3 (as I'm guessing not all games will be made available digitally), but this seems like a pretty cool feature for those who might have missed out on previous titles.
