Post your FTTC line stats & unlocking info

Mine too, had everything, Jamo speakers, CB radios, my fav shop of all.

Ive ordered a 0.5m high speed DSL cable, see how it goes, not really for speed, but for cable management.

The High speed DSL cable is here and it's added 1.5mb to my attainable rate, not bad really, I wasn't really bothered about the speed, just to tidy the install up and looks much - much neater.

For the price, I recommend it.

Thanks for the tip; I've just ordered one. It looks to be of much better quality than the ones that are bundled with modems.

Is there a preferred way to connect this new cable without it looking like a disconnection, and therefore possibly affecting the sync speed?

Hi all,

I had my 80/20 rated FTTC circuit installed yesterday, my work provided this as a WMBC Wholesale connection.

I am getting around 57mb / 17.5mb throughput (untweaked)

BT have installed the BT Open reach VDSL modem which is B-Focus V-2FUb/r Rev B

What sort of unlocking can I do with these (if any) and will it boost sync speed/throughput?

Can anyone point me in the direction of some reliable guides?

You have an ECI modem which is a pain to unlock. You need the HG612 from Huwai.
Unlocking doesn't allow you to tweak any settings apart from QOS which you can switch off and gain a small bit on the up. What it does do is allow you to export the data and graph it, like in the posts above.

log into the modem - reboot it - before it starts back up (resyncs) - turn it off and install cable.

Done, bit of Google easy..

This good or bad?
