Has anyone tried the new MK2 VDSL face plates yet?

They are new spec for 17a and 30a and have RIEN and RF filters in them.

I had mine fitted new MK2 VDSL faceplate

Before on adslnation faceplate:

sync: 17559k snr: 3.1dB line att: 30.5dB CRC errors (24 hours): 1257

New on openreach mk2 faceplate:

sync: 18676k snr: 3.1dB line att: 30.0dB CRC errors (24 hours): 108

Connection Speed 39998 kbps 9995 kbps
Line Attenuation 12.8 dB 0.0 dB
Noise Margin 31.1 dB 30.30 dB

Evening everyone,

Just had fttc enabled today (Sky self install). The above stats have been provided by my router. Can anyone give an indication of what speed my line is likely to be capable of if i were to upgrade to the 80mbit Pro package at any point in time?

Cheers,

I would say approx 200m from the cab. Internal wiring is good, (1 cat5e extension). Only thing i can think of is i have an adsl face plate installed as opposed to one of the new Vidal jobbies. Is that likely to cause such an issue?

If the line is decent and there aren't too many people on your cabinet 65 - 80Mb.

With that SNR margin you can be optimistic of 80Mb.

Crosstalk will cut that 80Mb down to less if there's enough of it.

My own attenuation is lower however crosstalk has cut me from 99Mb attainable to 75Mb attainable in 7 weeks. The effect can be pretty huge.

Its defo worth unlocking the modem and only takes about 5 mins, really easy to do.

I got openreach modem EchoLife HG612 3B as it come with firmware version: V100R001C01B028SP10

I had read instructions on the unlocking pdf but I don't understand this question: Configure the ethernet NIC of your PC with IP address 192.168.1.100. (how to do that?) sorry for being numb!

I connect openreach modem Lan2 direct to the back of my pc ethernet and I did type 192.168.1.100. but it come in blank screen. I can see openreach modem ip4 address is reading at 169.254.76.242?
