It clearly does matter about the colour option. Otherwise you'd be happy to take whatever colour wiggle have in stock.

It's normal for shops to sell off the stock of colours/sizes that people dont want at reduced prices...

This would be a fair point but given their return policy on swapping clothing if you buy the wrong size/colour the whole thing becomes ridiculous.

My mate dropped off my P3C after clearing it with the wife!

It's old but in good condition and can't have done too many km. Steerer is uncut too which is nice. I gave it a wipe over with acetone and its in good condition. I think it's a 2006 or 2007 model. Internal cables though!

I ordered some Shimano SPD SL 540s and a 3T Vola Pro base bar that were super cheap on CRC.

I'm in two minds about going for SRAM or Shimano.

Shimano is cheaper, 105 is great value.

I have SRAM on my other bike, so it would be all interchangeable if I went all SRAM.

Hard to find shifters and you have to get a Force crankset to get 53/39 which is $$$ Rival cranks are all compacts!

Couldn't you go SRAM for the most part but then get a Shimano (or whatever) crankset? They're interchangeable in the case of Shimano and SRAM aren't they?

But. But full group set and all that!:o

Not really in a rush, if a second hand crankset comes up I'll be all over it.

Might leave that till last, get the rest first. Will spread it out over a few weeks, aiming for maybe $750 all up. I need everything apart from frame & wheels.

Saddle worries me the most.

Lol...I know what you mean. I'd feel a little bit dirty mixing them up too :p

Could look at Rotor or one of the main other options?

When are the new DA groupsets being released? Is it unrealistic to expect some southward movement on 9000 prices?

As N+1... I've now a TT conversion to do and want to strip the 105 off the new bike and upgrade it to DA. I've Ultegra Brifters to come off the bike being converted which I'm happy to use so really I just need a chainset, derailleurs and brakes.

Unfortunately they new bike doesn't have direct mount brakes, I'll just have to just descend slower :p ... but I find £170-180 a pair hard to swallow when I'm sure performance over the Ultegra brakes isn't twice as good but they are twice the price.

Logically Ultegra brakes makes more sense but part of me just wants lots of blingy DA goodness...

Seen this? Kind of old now but I imagine some of it holds true still:

Got a used Cervelo branded Rotor set on FB with GXP BB for $135! With used aero SRAM rings. See when it turns up, bought and sold a few things on FB bike market group and had no problems but it's always a bit dodgy.

My Rapha Pro Team bibs stitching came loose, bought March last year. Emailed them at 6pm, Aus close at 5pm, but I had a reply in 5 minutes! Sent them a photo, repair agreed & post back tomorrow. Good service!

Got my new front wheel today for training on, always been using cheap wheels so this should be sweet!

White Industries T11 hub, Saipim spokes, hplusson achetype rim, weight with rim strip and no skewer 760g.

I drilled a 2mm hole in the rim on either side to drain water, found my other would fill up the box section after riding in the rain.

Looks great while the rim is all black, so so when the brake track wears to silver.

That's a very shiny wheel :)

My Gabba 2 should arrive today or tomorrow...so I can send it back and get the right size

You'd be shocked how quick you can go in a big group event like that. It was my OH's first 100 and she did 5hrs36 and still had a quick finish in her legs. Aside from a mental blip about 40 miles in and being held up in toilet queues it would have been comfortably under 5hrs30. You'd get under 6 easily. :)

Yup. Big groups of fast people make things a lot easier. Still pretty impressed by a sub four hour time though :)

Annoyed that my Eddington number is only 59. I've done tons of long rides this year

edit: zomgz - You need 6 more days (of 60 miles or more) to achieve an Eddington number of 60

Hi, cyclists.

paying road tax yet? ;)

itching for a new bike lol, or should I just get deep carbon discs.. for commuting lol.

Deep carbon rims with disc for commuting fo lyfe.

Its not rained heavily here, but I brought my overshoes today. Can't help but think its a little futile gesture in flash flood conditions but light rain it keeps my feet dry. Fingers crossed it will stay dry-ish for when I go home. I don't really bother with waterproof tops in summer though, there no point! Sweat OR Rain.

My stuff is still going to be soaked for the journey home so I guess I shouldn't care too much about how it turns out but..blah.

It gets harder to increase it as you do more long rides. I need one more to get to 44, so I should nail that pretty soon, but I need another 9 to get to 45 so that'll probably take me until sometime next year as I usually only manage one ride of over 40 miles each month.

Yeah. I honestly thought I'd done more than that this year though. Oh well :)

Looks like the jump from 61 to 62 won't be too tough. Especially as most of my rides of 60 miles or more tend to be metric centuries and as such are over 62 miles.

Stuck in the worlds worst training course for the rest of the week. Apache/Tomcat which should take 20 minutes to cover but the trainer seems to be able to make the most simple cack take forever. Brain melting out my ears.

So..The Gabba saga continues. Wiggle were out of stock despite claiming that they weren't. I questioned why they were so slow to send out my order and in response they cancelled it (due to the stock issues). Sigheth.

Ordered from ProBikeKit with their 10% off for new customers. Cost just over £120 so a little more expensive but they have the colour and size combo in stock that I want so I guess that works out okay.

With regards to training tyres.

I've given Michelin a go and I'm not sure they are worth double the price of a Vittoria Rubino Pro. The new G+ range seems to have better grip in the wet to me. Downside is they are heavy.

Which Michelin? The new range of Pro4s sound a bit rubbish - I'm sticking with the V2s for as long as possible.
