At the USA microcenter they are giving a $100 steam gift card with every 40 series purchase. Basically $100 off any 40 series..

They are selling so well... NOT...

Nvidia really messed up this time and it's so clear to see everywhere in the world now.
retailer is giving away RTX 40 GPUs with all $100 Steam Gift cards :D :D
Rodney! It's all going according to plan!

4070 is also next gen coming from an older product, same for 7900xt from amd, or not that much if you're coming from a newer product. There's a lot of "spin" you can give to each card.
However, like I'll write below, without actual next gen games (that do look the part), is still too early to say how things will be.

Also is 5700XT vs. 2080 Super 6800xt vs. 3080ti.
Unless UE5 heavily favors AMD something could be fishy.

Anyway, at lest next gen games will be coming out (finally), so that's something.

Might be something do with RDNA in consoles too. We will find out in a few months.

I get that slight stutter in the background when panning around but if walk straight it's smooth , I think some are just not sensitive to it ? . Every other game I play is perfectly smooth

5800x3d - 3080 using high preset at 1440p , 32gb system ram you'd think that would be good enough
Is it bad I can't genuinely see the stutter and it looks very smooth to me.

maybe im sensitive to it , its the back drop when panning I see the stutter , not the actual character hard to explain and doesnt happen in all areas

while the fps is like 80+ it doesnt feel like that more like 40-50fps

Has anyone noticed the now HUGE disparity in prices between the UK and USA? I mean I tread on eggshells mentioning it, but even taking VAT, duty and shipping in to account you can be talking about the UK being 20-30% dearer on some graphics cards.
I been keepimng an eye on US prices and its getting to the point that its cheaper on some gpu's to import even with duty on top, even in uk a lot of stores are taking this pi55, OC is one of them, as well as plenty of others, but ive just d=seen a 6950 on a site pre order for under 620 quid, yet at others its 699 and above

are you talking about my video or the actual game.?
if my video then what are you viewing it on and in what way (app or brawser).?
to see the stutter you have to watch it at 60fps

if @tommybhoy has the game he could scope?
I don't know the context of the vid, GPU used, res etc, but description states it's high settings with ultra textures, ultra requires>10Gb.

I'm running Native on 65 QD Oled VRR@4K 3080 FE(DLSS and FSR have FS halo artifacts from the centre of view out), and a mix of Low to Ultra keeping it just and no more under the 10Gb in-game warning, for example, low character detail, ultra environment detail.

I can't run Ultra everything on 10Gb@4K.

Keep it in the vram budget and you'll get a great game visually along with sublime story telling nearly finished it, GOTY so far for me.

4090, 7800X3D, 32GB 6000cl30 ram, 4k resolution with dlss quality.
So what do I need to upgrade for the game to run well..?

Here is nvidia feeling like they messed up. Nvidia shareholders must be so disappointed in nvidia's mistakes. People here live on a different world, they are so anti-nvidia.

It is one thing to be disappointed in prices (I'd like cheaper prices as well), but its another to be laughing at nvidia, who won't care.

To be fair this is another case of Nvidia (and the stock traders) lucking into the 'hype train' by adding in stuff that had no real use up until chat gpt went big..... first it was crypto, now it's AI although that might not last as long as they hope with a lot of big players looking at making their own custom processors.

If you look at all the other areas they seem to be going downwards or at best being flat.... and just because a company has a product that is popular in one specific corporate space (AI) doesn't mean that those companies actually like them either.... just look at the 'hate for MS' yet they basically rule the corporate pc space and are a huge player in servers and now AI.

3080 @ 1440p with high preset keeps it below 10gb , running with 5800x3d I'll just put it down being poor port

To be fair expanding here also, nobody hates nvidia, that's quite a strong word, but debating manoeuvres and greed tactics is open for anyone to discuss openly (about any company). We are looking at it from a consumer perspective, not a shareholders - which is to squeeze maximum profits where possible. If you applaud what they have done over the past two years, or are willing to dismiss it as fine, then welcome to the bend over here's the talc society you want to live in. The majority of punters and ones on this forum will be looking at nvidia for their gaming hardware (not AI/compute). From what I can see it looks like this isn't a priority, or put it another way the entry cost into dGPU's is now circa £300 which even if you look back at the pascal era the price was half of that.
