Ryzen 3900X thread

I have settled on 3666Mhz CL16 with tuned timings for both my 3700X and 3900X. This was easy to obtain and did not require too much effort other than tuning DRAM voltage.
One little quirk i have noticed, when i run the CPU-Z single thread benchmark using 1 thread, i get a score of 520 on my 3700X which seems above the average, however when i run the same test on my 3900X system my score is only 496.

Can't figure out why the score on the 3900X is lower when the CPU frequency is higher.

Running Cinebench 15 produces the expected results, so i guess this is an issue with CPU-Z for whatever reason.

Got to the bottom of the problem, it seems like CPU-Z does not like the Windows Balanced Power Profile with core parking enabled.

Setting the Power plan to Ryzen Balanced bumped the score up to 547.

How is the 3900x running? All core oc or just auto boost?
Do you know what settings to tweak and volts to up to get my if to 1900?
I can get 3600 ram and 1900 if
I can get 3800 ram and 1800 if but not both at 1900

I get 8700 multi and 543 single on cpu z
All core 4.4 at 1.35v

upgraded from a 6700k, so far I'm very happy. Tried Ryzen Master for the first time. Taichi 570, 32gb 2400mhz ram (4*8gb), IF at 1800. 3900x is on stock air cooler and have hit some temperature issues so will be looking to add liquid cooler asap.

That's at stock CPU settings?
I don't get it at all, there's no way in hell mine scores that high unless I all core overclock.
At stock mine now only boosts to 4.05ghz multi and 4.15 single on the f4 bios. Something not okay, I've water cooled it and it's pathetic how it performs unless I manually oc it

You’ve struck gold with that chip mate. Think my multi core max at stock is just over 7200.

I don’t suppose you made a note of the batch?

I used a cpu core offset mode negative voltage of 0.1, this dropped the temps, it was hitting low 80s, its now hitting 71C running cinebench r20 multi core test. In games its 55-60C, this is with a 100i V2 AIO cooler.

3900X should get at least 7300 score in R20, if lower then either undervolted, overheating, terrible RAM config or a BIOS/Windows power issue.
Mine must be terrible, best score is 7250, 516(no under volt) and 7202, 519(with -0.1v under volt) and RAM is @3600 16,17,17,38,56,T1.

Just checked my RAM settings, XMP sets my tRC value at 85. It should be 52, if I manually change the value in BIOS my score goes up to 7013. Will have a read up on Ryzen DRAM Calc and see about tweaking my RAM.

I was tweaking CCX and the IF is up to 1800. It was late when I wrote that sentence including the word "stock", so any ambiguity was unintentional. I meant to say the CPU cooler was the out of the box Wraith cooler or whatever it's called, hence my issue with the temps on any serious attempts to stress test it. it is CB20 stable, so it could be that the chip is half-decent.
