SAMSUNG

Might be that Apple CS isn't amazing? They are all nice and happy in the store but it takes a very long time to get things sorted. Not in my experience, but a few friends.

I said that because whenever I've had a fault with an Apple product, after fighting through crowds of skint students and hipsters who think everything else is too mainstream, Apple have just replaced whatever I needed to have replaced without fuss and I walked out of the store with a fully functional product.

Samsung are a premium brand IMO, they produce good quality products and have good brand image and awareness.

In 2003 I bought a slim Samsung laptop and it felt apart after a year. Didn't buy another Samsung product since 2011.

They've come on leaps and bounds since then. I remember when they started making Plasma tvs when Panasonic and Sony were on top, they sucked but now they are leading the way in LED. Just look at this 55 OLED coming in 2013, sweet!

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the best phone on the market bar none. Screens they are top notch now. I have a Samsung fridge freezer and that wasn't on purpose. Generally choose based on specs and the Samsung fridge was the best price/performance/features ratio. Samsung SSDs are some of the best performing in the market.

I have a Samsung microwave, its lasted well - bought because it was cheap but decent quality, Samsung in a nutshell.

They are a bit like Skoda, used to be poo but after some huge investment by a big boy they now churn out good stuff that is wannabe premium but held back as they still know they dont have the branding to charge for actual premium.

I had to use Samsung's customer support.... they were excellent, this alone would put Samsung products closer to the top of my list of brands.

I'm suggesting that Samsung might be considered a premium brand to the Jeremy Kyle brigade but not to the rest of us. They are barely above a landfill manufacturer IMO.

Erm... What??

-Gs 3 is too curvy, note 2 corners are all nicely rounded and the same
-The back of the GS 3 looks butt ugly with the speaker, flash and camera, the note II layout is better and doesn't look like it has been stuck on with glue for those 3 things
-hard home button looks better on the note 2
-thinner bezel on the bottom of the note 2

It's the wee things like that (which are more noticeable in 'real life'), which completely ruin the GS 3 IMO and the design of it is the main reason I haven't got one.

Unfortunately both have that awful brushed metal look on glossy plastic.....

The only colour that looks good enough, is the grey version. White and Blue etc. Are Just awful IMO.

I agree the galaxy note is plastic fantastic, my mate has one its ridiculous compared to an iphone or even a nokia lumia, the build quality looks cheap and the stupid stylus is on par with what my kids use on the DS

Oh gawd not this again. Though i agree the design isn't very premium it's the quality of the smartphone what matters it's functions and features. Saying you look silly holding it because it's bigger than the average phone is also not relevant, It's because of its size, functions and features that it's selling so well, better than Samsung originally envisioned. Stupid stylus really? Have you even used one? You have a strong smell of Apple fanboy about you, am i wrong? More over that Note II users didn't buy their phone because of how it "looks".

To be honest i had a hard time choosing between the Note II and iPhone 5, Both are smashing devices dont think you can do with either way. It's all down to requirements and personal preference. Even though i chose the Note II doesn't mean i turn into a fanboy and criticize the opposition.

Dont be a wally all your life man :D

I will not buy another Samsung product on principal based on the disgraceful customer service I have received and the battle I continue to fight with them. I have 2 of their 3D TV's that have be faulty since I bought them, 1 with additional faults occurring since then and they have been incredibly bad. Luckily I have an audit trail so will get it resolved to my satisfaction but in doing so I am past the point of forgiveness.

Obviously not, as it is massive. If they cared about their looks they wouldn't buy a phone that looks like they're holding a tablet next to their heads, would they? :D

It doesn't matter if you like Apple or not the Note is simply too big. Saying so doesn't make you an Apple "fanboy".

LOL Samsung

The issue appears to be related to the NAND becoming corrupted and killing off the Galaxy S III’s mainboard, which causes the phone to essentially “brick” itself.

For my brother, it took about 3 months for them to give him a new macbook that the keyboard lights (I know, a bit fussy) worked on. And then they stopped working, he now uses an app that switches them off and on as the built in control just doesn't work.

The fact that I know a lot of people that have to visit the apple shop for repairs puts me off a bit. I am very careful with my tech but with two iPhones I had, the home button broke. I know Samsung feel very cheap and plasticky, but had 2 with no problems.

I love my iPad though :D they sure can't be beaten in the tablet market.
