Out of interest, is there any specific reason/s for not using both? Therefore giving us the choice of which company we feel most comfortable with.
Yep, could use both but at worse rates so would cost you more. Bigger piece of pie = lower charges.

from my experience with ordering from OCUK, Amtrak have been awful, never deliver when expected, reluctant to try a second delivery, boxes are absolutely ****** by the time they get here, covered in dirt, and the customer service is appauling, when they finally answer the phone "oo yeah i made sure he definitely is on his way today, should be with you by 12 today"... 2 days later it shows up at 4.55
not impressed at all by Amtrak - OCUK's bad side i believe
City Link however, always amaze me, very polite, very patient (on two occasions have they waited for a song to end to bang again when the music was low so i could hear them... lol) well presented, boxes are mint when they arrive, and i deal with them at work too, where they are even better.... so my vote to city link it goes...

City link look more professional, amtrak usually have banged up vans

That made me chuckle. When I first ordered from OCUK, had a scruffy dude with a big white, rusty van, pull up with £1k of my components. I was like WTF :o

City Link are the best courier for me in north london, always come before 12am. Amtrak dont seem that great usually deliver close to 4pm. Its probably because the are a franchise though, it would explain the huge difference between the depots.
One time the delivery guy was rummaging through the back trying to find my parcel and stepped on something, it sounded like glass

I can see why you are using amtrak though since their prices are very low. I heard it was something like 7.50+vat for 25kg.

i think it must be company policy :D

when i got my uv stuff the guy was (quite) heavy handed with the package. although the only thing that could have broken was UV tubes, its not the point. if they are being trusted to carry and deliver all manner of high spec v.fragile goods, they should take some care.

EDIT: thinking about it, that mey even of been royal mail.

i remember i got my processer from amtrak and the box was battered in the corner. luckly ther was plenty of them air pocket filling in there!

in north london i would also vote for citylink over amtrak

citylink always deliver stuff to me before 10am (normally its around 8.30am)

amtrak used to be complete **** they left cards saying they tried to deliver but no one was when i was home all day waiting for my gear

but they have improved my last few orders have arrived relatively early

but my vote still goes for city link they seen more like a "professional outfit"

I'm going to say City Link.

Purely because I've never had a single problem with them, and the driver knows me fairly well. :o:D

Same here, tbh the main reason city links wins for me is that if you miss the parcel being dropped off and you ring up 80% of the time they will pop it round later, but OMG, amtrack's, if your not great at getting up in the morning like my self you have to end up staying up all night just to make sure you get the parcel then even doing that sometimes you can miss them b-cos they nock on your door so queitly, sometimes i'll pop in the kitchen to make a cuppa, come back and find a amtracks card laying on my floor, I just put my head in my hands with despair when i see that ******* amtracks card on the door matt !!!!, in fact somtimes I don't even think they bother knocking when they are in a rush.

amtrack suck nuts, so voted for City Link - only had a few things delivered via them and never had any trouble.

DHL for the win tho :D
I cannot reccomend DHL. They don't even turn up when you book them for a collection nevermind deliver the stuff!

City Link without a doubt.

I've stopped ordering anything from OcUK if it is too heavy to go Royal Mail due to the repeated appauling and unappologetic lack of service from Amtrack.
