*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Just cancelled sky. I didn't really want to but knew I had to be prepared to leave.

I was paying £38 a month for Sky Family best deal I was offered was £28. Which probably Isn't that bad. I'm not sure what anyone else has managed to get the Family package for.

I held out for a while with Now TV and Talk talk and went back to Sky with Family Pack and Sky+HD for £15.20 pm
 
So it looks like the 50% discount online doesn't actually apply to your entire subscription; I've got half-price Original pack but I'm going to be charged full price for the HD add-on.

Pass. I find that a bit deceptive really.

If your bundle comes with HD then the 50% covers everything.
I was paying £38/month for my bundle - couldn't tell you which one it was. After my 50% offer (which arrived 5 minutes after I cancelled) I am now paying £19/month and that definitely comes with HD.
 
Sports and Films don't include the HD unlike the Family Pack (or whichever does). I couldn't persuade them to give me 50% off the HD for Sports or Movies although they did give me a £50 credit which isn't quite 50% off but close enough for me at the time.
 
No offers on my account yet infact it doesnt even say i have cancelled so phoned to check and the person advised my account has been cancelled but it might not show up on the online system until after i have left lol .
Surely the IT systems are not that bad that it takes over a month to update details.
Last time i cancelled i had a note on my account within minutes asking me to stay lol
 
Well I did a chat session earlier today and they could only offer a 20% discount so I cancelled.

Just checked my account and had the offer for 50% sitting there already so took it there and then! That'll do for another year, thanks for everyone's help :)

Thats odd, when i cancel, i get an email saying sorry to see you go , while im on the phone or live chatting, then i log in and look to my future bill, and its been adjusted because im leaving.

After a few hours messing about I got 50% off everything and £75 credit on my account.

So for everything except movies its £56 a month including line rental and BB happy enough with that.

Whats the best hub to order Sky Q one or the standard one ?
