*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

For me, with a current 50% discount offer for 12 months (sports, movies & box sets & HD) to prevent my cancellation, if i have read the webesite right the cost to me as standard to upgrade to Sky Q should be:

2Tb Silver set up - £60 for existing customers without current multiscreen discount (£199 if currently have multiscreen)

SkyQ multiscreen £12 per month

So 50% off current bundle, say £40 per month & £12 per month for SkyQ (multiroom) = £52 per month. One off cost of setup £60

Is this right??

Called Sky to upgrade to Sky Q without the multiscreen (extra £12 a month) but they said they can't offer it without paying £199 for setup (£15 if you take multiscreen). :( pretty disappointed

I used the online chat to get my deal, renewed yesterday with 60% off removed my multiscreen then added the sky q, extra £12 a month with £90 cost for the 2 boxes

Has anyone had normal Sky (non Q) with a 60% discount, then took out Q and come to the end of the discount period? Do I just call retentions when that time comes? As otherwise my bill will be going up quite a bit!

Thats my plan, negotiate the same 60% off in 12 months or cancel

I've already got 60% off... i just don't want to be paying £27 a month for the same package that I'm now paying £15 for, when all I'll get is the box and won't use multiscreen..

Ah sorry, I see what you mean, they may have some better deals around xmas but i am not sure how the minimum terms and discount would work if you got them at different times

Do you mean cancel sports and movies and only have the basic Sky subscription?

If they don't do the 60% off the Sky Q next year I would just cancel and get the GF to sign up in her name for a new customer deal.

This is my 3rd year (I think) of getting 60% off and I never have much hassle getting it.

But my issue is that my Sky package 60% off was process in April I think, I got Sky Q the other month. So come April, my whole package will go up to the £70 off + Q subscription.

Ouch! Did they restart your 12 month contract when you got Sky Q? Maybe they were nice and extended your discount also

No, apparently the Q contract runs separate to the regular package contract. So when my TV discount expires in April I will have to try and negotiate a 6 month discount to bring them both in line.

My brother is looking to change his sky package and he currently has regular sky tv (complete package inc sports and movies) with broadband unlimited, phone line and sky phone he pays £120 a month but wants to switch to Sky Q with the same package he has now but with Fibre.

Is there any deals going about that he can get? I've said he might want to consider leaving sky and waiting until hes a new customer to get the best deals but if there are existing deals going about he would prefer to do that. He has been out of contract for some months now.

Thanks

Cancelled my TV subscription a few days ago. £116 for Fibre, Talk and TV (full without movies). Down to £32.50 a month for Fibre Unlimited and Talk.

Will see what they offer me after cancellation...

Debating cancelling my subscription, particularly given if I were a new customer with no discounts it'd be cheaper than my current per month cost (£92 for everything + multiscreen).

How long do you have to wait to become a "new" customer again? May try phoning up and see if they offer a deal if I move my broadband to them (currently through BT), but never normally works for me!
