*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

I just got sky installed again after moving. Signed up to the full sky Q package for £30 p/m via a code but found out from the engineer that I couldn't have it due to me being in a community system. Called them up today and complained and got sky+hd full package for the same money. He even gave me free BB for 12 months too, Just pay the line rental.

Total cost for everything comes to £48 odd.

I've just signed up for the 14day trial of Now TV

Tried it on my PS3 and quite frankly it's a mess!

I've got 76mb fibre and the image quality is crud lol

The GUI is like treacle and virtually unuseable !

Watching live is pants..... catchup is better

I'm not even impressed with catchup tbh.

Poor IQ and stutter...

BBC iplayer is miles ahead along with Netflix and Prime.

Its clear Sky have castrated Now TV as to not hurt valuable satallite TV subscriptions.

Playing back on PC was taxing aswell. No support for Chrome, Or Edge

Only IE and Firefox....I mean who uses IE still?

I'll be testing it on an Apple TV tonight...

EDIT

Don't think I can be bothered. Apple TV seems to be broken with Now TV as well...lol

Err there's a windows app for now TV, but you won't get the best pq on the pc. I would recommend using a chrome cast if you don't want to use a now TV box.

I agree though iPlayer, prime and Netflix are good.

Not tried very much on NowTV as I only got it for a week for the Ryder Cup, was using it through the App on my laptop HDMI out and the PQ was great.

My main gripe was being charged twice for it. I went on live chat to get it sorted and they point blank denied charging me twice, I even sent them a screenshot of my bank account with the two debits showing. They totally refused to help sort it out and told me to get in touch with my bank and have it tagged as a fraudulent charge and get my bank to sort it out. Took 2 weeks to get my money back in the end and even then it just appeared, 2 days later I got an email saying here's your refund thanks for being a NowTV customer!

Just cancelled via live chat. My first and only offer was 40% off TV packages for 10 months of 12. Better than any first offer I've had previously, but still £42 p/m for me (I'm still paying a crazy £12 p/m for HD, which they're less willing to discount).

I canceled my sky last Friday, I'm in the cancellation period and services finish on the 29th but I've had no contact to keep me or any offers on the my sky web page.
If I go to my offers for sky q it just brings an error.

Seems to be flipping for me when I log in, sometimes I see the 50% offer on the My Sky homepage as one of the 'tiles', sometimes not, as is the case this morning. The 'offers' page shows an error.

I'm pretty sure the offer is still 60% and potentially £100 credit if you actually let the service cancel, which I'm planning to do. Unsure whether I'll sign back up even then. Since Sky lost midweek football I've managed to watch very few games.

Yep. I have Sky, Netflix and Prime. My point was that lots of the Sky content is not on Netflix :)

Yeah but it is on NowTV.

I ditched Sky few months now and not missing it. Anything I want off Sky, eg Walking Dead I use NowTV. Got Entertainment voucher for 6 months off the bay for £15 to cover it. Gives me access to Live Sky channels too. Currently Sky Movies is £1.66 per month till end of December although not watched much. If there is a footy match on Sky just buy a day/week pass. Actually watched more on Netflix, Luke Cage (yet to watch), Designated Survivor, few films and its 4k too. Probably saved me about £150 (About £30 a month) or so to date by not having Sky (on a deal) if I was to pay what they wanted me to then it goes upto nearly £400 (About £80 a month)
