*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

I used to have sky a long time ago had it in my parents house the cost was absurd back then and im pretty darn old now haha. I'm considering going with Talk Talk but if i planned to do that i would need to figure out how to hook the box up to my laptop/projector.

Last time I renewed was July 2014, but the old box from that previous year (a DRX890 wrapped up in the new packaging, with the new sealed cables etc) went for a shade over £50 including delivery on ebay. Obviously take 5 minutes to take a couple of decent photos of the package and write a nice "not from a scummy house" style advert. At that time I also sold the brand new sealed dish and quad lnb package for around £20, too. First time I had bothered saying to the installer to leave me with the dish, I thought I might as well have it as he had brought it round into my garden before he realised it wouldn't be needed.

Perhaps they have fallen in value since then, much of a muchness though :)

Looks like i will be stopping my service in July , i have 75% discount on my sky package

I have everthing for 37.50 including fibre broadband + telephone , can`t see sky giving me the same deal to be honest , just be keeping my fibre broadband for £10 per month

This was the most annoying thing about our renewal, sky had clearly turned a profit on us the year before and if they had just offered a price match or very small increase I would have signed up, but no crazy increase and no way of giving me what I wanted without a package full of rubbish I wouldn't watch so they had to go!
 
I renegotiated last week. Going in for another 12 months. comes out at £33 ish for basic TV package with phone and fibre.

This week I get a letter through the post, your bill will be going up by £2. Not a happy bunny. I know it's only £2, but the principle of increasing my tariff a week after I agree a new contract is highly frustrating. Do I ring up and have a good whinge?
 
Was going to cancel mine today paying £24.75 was rising to £26.75 offered me the same package for £ 15.75 so accepted that but will be leaving if it goes back up in 12 months
 
I'm with Sky and want to stay with Sky, is there anything I can wangle out of them, any cheeky tips to get some money back? They're putting the bill up by £3 a month again.
 
I must be a sucker, paying £65 a month (including the £3 increase) for phone, BB and TV but with only the HD and entertainment package. I'm going to wait until we move house in a couple of months, cancel and sign up with the wifes details. It seems to be the best way.

Broadband (Fibre)
Phone
Sky+HD (everything but sports and movies but including F1 HD) + Multiroom

You must have got F1 near the start… Ah, of course. Sky F1 launched on 9 March 2012. Before it became part of the sports package. Was that in the last year?

I'm on that (legacy) package too! So get F1 but do not have Sky Sports...

Would hate to lose F1!
 
my sky subscription started this side of the month in May last year

does that mean I can now give my 30 days notice ? IE at the 11 months point ?

I don't want to go onto full price - as have full package atm at 1/2 price
