*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Great, the guy today has messed up with my offer and I can't get it anymore! The price is £12 per month more than I agreed to! The agent I spoke with tried to give me an inferior deal even though the previous deal was already agreed and I have proof of that from the chat because I saved the contents. Now my cancellation has been stopped (it would have gone through next week), and I'm stuck with a deal that I didn't agree to. If I cancel now I have another 31 days to wait. The offer can't be applied by the cancellation department so I am forced to call again and wait for 20 mins to speak with a manager as the complaints number goes nowhere! To say I'm not happy would be an understatement! Good job Sky!

take to twitter about it :) there are a number of companies that react faster to that than to the standard telephone calls etc because its out there for everyone to see

In the process of cancelling Sky/Virgin TV.

Will be keeping the VM broadband.

Got myself an Amazon Fire TV box. Side loaded Kodi media centre and I can now get the HD content (Sport/Movies/American Channels) I want when I want.

Ongoing costs are for SmartDNS, Nerflix and Amazon Prime TV. Will knock off a good £60 a month

My contract ends in June and i am paying £37.50 for everthing, cannot seem myself getting the same deal , if not i will just keep my sky unlimited Sky Fibre broadband for £10 per month

Well after 14 years of loyal service my Sky is now cancelled and terminates on the 21st May. My deal (which was actually crap) came to an end last month and I got a letter informing of a £3.50 p/m price hike, I guess the £5bn for the premier league has to come from somewhere. I was also offered nothing when I rang to cancel which surprised me tbh.

I've now had 3 calls from the cancellation team who have offered me a measly 35% off which frankly is terrible given the amount of people I know that are on far far better deals than that but I guess new customers get prioritisation over those that have paid into them for 14 years.....

Ive had 75% discount for 12 months £37.00 including everthing and my contract ends in June , i was told my bill would be £90 + so looks like i will not be getting the same discount so i will be just keeping Sky Fibre Unlimited

I am suprised they did not offer you a better deal to be honest

can I ask how to "cancel" online please

as only options I get are to go via webchat or phone - there is no cancel option in my account

They'll want to try and talk you out of leaving so won't give you the option to cancel without speaking to someone.

It's been 8 months since I cancelled and the only thing I miss is the F1. The £75+ a month fee I was effectively paying for that was just too much, especially given that everything I want to watch is available on other platforms for significantly less cost. Was tempted by NowTV for the F1 for a bit but I seem to be managing just fine watching it non-live on non BBC weekends.

I am too although I doubt I would have took any deal tbh as we are moving our viewing to more and more Netflix and Now TV we do not watch anything live anymore due to the constant stream of ads.

I also moved my 80mb Fibre to BT a year ago for the free BT sport which actually worked out cheaper than having it with Sky at the time and BT have just given me the same again for £31 p/m so I'm happy with that.

Doesn't Sky Fibre get more expensive without a TV package though?

Same here, don't watch anything live anymore other than sport, the little one will miss the kids stuff but there is so much on Netflix anyway she'll adjust.

Hello all

We have a Sky Family with Sports in HD for £48 odd a month I wouldn't mind cutting it down when it's up at the end of July. Predominantly watch the football/cricket/NFL and Sky Atlantic for HBO stuff and Sky losing Champions League has irked me a little bit. Current broadband package is with EE and is pretty dreadful, get sick of constant throttling and streaming is bad.

So, what's my best port of call here? Without getting into too much trouble I do have an RPi with Kodi I've used every now and then for something on at 3pm, but constantly jitters and winds up my housemates. If I could assure them it'd work a hell of a lot better with fibre broadband and we get Now TV alongside it I can imagine it saving us an absolute fortune.

Having signed up for Sky F&F I have now had my tracked quidco declined.
I've submitted a request to find out why but have others been succesful using quidco?

I had a long chat with Sky about coming back and the best they could do is 33% off for 5 years.

:(

No thanks....
