*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Seriously thinking of cancelling now. Just on the standard packages with sport and it's £65.00 a month. Considering the sport that I mainly signed up for and I'm now over it there really doesn't seem much point in keeping it.

We've rang up and cancelled, we had the 50% deal but we simply dont watch it enough, we only really want the f1 and HD channels, we would consider staying for 60-65% discount but sky dont want to care.

One of my old ones just went to 60% off PLUS a £100 upfront account credit. Almost totally free sky for the whole year with the basic package at £8.60 chipping away at the credit all year.

GinG pass over the deal to me!! :D

To be honest there is no reference or anything with it. Not sure if they have any record about the offers they send out may be worth trying to blag it and ring them up?

Forgot to say it was also with £100 credit so it is a really cheap deal, but don't want a dish on the house for now.

does the 60% show up when you login then where they show the 50% ?

sky have just rung me, i rang to cancel last week, months notice, logged in to my account, the 50% was there within a few minutes.

Had 2 calls from a 01322 number yesterday, looked the number up, sky, they just rang today, offered me sports and family in hd for £31 a month for 10 months, no contract, i said no, they then said £50 credit to my account as well, i still said no, he said he couldnt do any better.

il wait for it to be cut off.

the way i see it is, any money to sky is better than none , thats how id see it if i was them.

Just signed back up this morning with this very thing. Family package, HD and a multiroom sub for £20.02, the £100 credit brings it down to effectively £11.69 per month.

I am hoping another of my accounts does the same thing. The original bundle works out to be £3.20 for the entire 12 months - so virtually totally free multiroom :D

Just renewed my contract, same price for another year. I might actually cancel mine because really all I watch is football (BBC/ITV/BT Sport), News and Game of Thrones. That's quite a lot of money to watch Game of Thrones...

I just went ahead with that, pretty reasonable although I didn't want movies but couldn't remove it!

Just cancelled my Sky TV (kept my broadband though), will see what they come back with in the next few days/weeks.

Any ideas what I should be aiming for? I basically had the whole lot, Variety TV+Sports+Movies+HD, and fibre broadband too. Total comes to ~£100 a month so hoping for a fair whack off that.

Suprised people still use sky :D, cost me £15 a year with all sky channels, sports and movies. £30 minimum a month :( got rid of that a long time ago.
