Summer Transfer Thread 2019

Finally got an official announcement on Maguire. Was starting to think we had fudged this up somehow after all the faff that we love to indulge in as a club. I know United news sells papers but we have got to be the worst club at signing players.

Pleased with that. We still need more though... :(

Yep, a DM, CM and potentially RW. Maybe a CF in Lukaku leaves but lets be honest, with our recent dealings we will be left with a £75m Lukaku for a season where he barely players and then we either offload him for £40m next year or more likely give him a nice big new contract to "maintain his value".

If we dont manage to land a decent CB in the remaining days, then I will be fuming. Mustafi cannot play for us any more. Against Barca and Lyon, we've conceded deciding goals within 5 minutes of him coming on. It can't just be a coincidence. Even a loaner will do for a year. Just get someone ffs.

The thing that worries me is that if he's fit he plays. Why would you pick him? It can't be a case of putting him in the shop window, as the more he plays the worse he looks. It's clear to everyone that he is a liability. I would except any bid for him, just to get him out the club.

Rather just give youth ago than signing a keeper who will likely never play, I really do not agree with klopp lack of transfer activity this window

It's not suddenly gonna change so just hope no injuries to front three or full backs.

Why? You said yourself that they're not likely to play so what does any young keeper hope to gain by sitting on the bench for 12 months. They may as well go out on loan or play for the u23's and gain some experience.

Adrian on a free is a no brainer. We're getting an experienced keeper just in case Alisson gets injured and it allows our younger keepers to gain some experience actually playing.

Why spend wages on a player we won't play? Just give a youth keeper a shot. I'm sure we have more than one keeper in under 23/18 anyway so it won't impact them massively

Because Alisson might get injured at some point and any young keeper good enough to step in shouldn't be wasted by sitting on the bench for a year.

BILD are reporting that we've had a £55-60m bid for RB Leipzig CB, Upamecano rejected. Guardian also reporting it to although they say we've approached them but no official bid has been made.

Won't even pretend to have ever watched him play but it's good to see we're still trying for a CB this season if it's true.
