He'll be a master debater before the night is out.

Genuinely had to google about 3 different things to find an appropriate image. Also definately had to go on private browsing to do the search... wasn't a proud moment at all...

Should probably be asleep at this point... got FM up and decided I'll go to bed when I don't win... that was an hour ago...

Just the other week Guardiola mentioned that Liverpool's academy is the only other academy in the world that's on a par with Barca's. The fact that we stole the guys that ran their academy may have something to do with that.
The amount of work Benitez did in so little time after getting control of the youth setup was amazing. I can understand supporters of other clubs criticising him without realising what he did but the former Liverpool players that criticised him through the media are scum.

See some of us got a warning for sudgesting that we set alight DM, but i like the way you think:o:D
:D

On another note anyone know what's going on with QPR?

They have a gaggle of rich owners, have patiently worked their way into the EPL... Then still won't spend any money

Is there something going on or do the owners run it like Cashley does Newcastle? Just to make money for themselves.

Got to love the British media.. how he would never win anything with that 'defensive' 4-2-3-1 formation, but since Crapello started to experiment with it, suddenly its flavour of the month .. if its good enough for England and all that.

did I read somewhere something about an U19's CL starting?

Didnt have time to read it, and when I did I couldnt find it again

Yep, Kenny was the one really pushing for it whilst he was Academy director type personal at Liverpool, and now its finally a reality.
Not many 'top' English clubs in it though, they were offered the chance to take part but most rejected it.. strange that.

Currently confirmed (along with Liverpool):
Barcelona, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Celtic, Marseille, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Sporting Lisbon, Wolfsburg, Molde, PSV Eindhoven, FC Basel, Fenerbahce, Rosenborg, B.Munich, PSG

The PL are making changes to academy and reserve football too for a few seasons time.
Academy football is limited to U17's
Reserve is renamed to 'U21's league' and is .. as said, under 21 only.

Right ok then,
Well why are they all in the Premier League then and apart from Onouha play for England??

Ok so not all the players started when they were like 7 but how many teams actually produce any players that do start at that age?

Most came in at under 15 level and then they were made into the players they are now....all apart from Onouha are England Internationals.

BTW our Academy also regularly finished in the top 2 of the reserves league and has won the FA Youth Trophy so not bad for a not so good youth academy is it?

Out of interest, which clubs do have one of the better youth setups?

Sorry but you're talking out your arse, I didn't say they had to come in under 7, but most of them didn't start at 15, only 4 on your list did, one has barely ever played, one is a rubbish defender, the other 2 are good. SWP can be considered a success even though he's actually almost completely useless, however, he joined your youth set up 13 years ago. Since then you've produced Onouha, Richards, Sturridge.......... wow.

You said you had a great youth setup, not that you produced a few players, I didn't say it was a rubbish setup, or massively worse than others in the England, its simply so far away from being great, that its a joke.

Heres a hint for you, playing for a premiership team doesn't make you a great footballer, being picked for England does not make you a great footballer, being a great footballer makes you a great footballer, 3 of the 6 you listed could be considered having the potential to be great, one of those is most certainly NOT a product of your youth setup, the other two are.

I think if we started a thread with everyone trying to list every crap player who managed to play for their country, or in the EPL, it would be a ridiculously long thread with hundreds and hundreds of names.

SWP, Richards, Sturridge, over 13 years, wow.

We can end this argument now by all agreeing that Liverpool's new academy is the best! ;)
Flooding the lower age international teams, about 50% come from our academy now..
Okay, so the team's still crap, but we'r the cream of the crap

didnt they have a big falling out and the likes of ecclestone and briatore have walked away?

edit

sorry it looks like the briatore and the gang are responsible for fleecing the fans and it was the chairman who resigned in protest
