i do think fergie will get a good midfielder in, and i also reckon they are looking at Jones for a holding midfield, as he has played there. Utd have a mass of central defenders, and you would feel the Evans & Brown will be off.

Why would they ditch Brown now? If they were going to they would've done it 7 or 8 years ago when everyone saw how bad he was.

he was fantastic during the 2007/2008 season when they won the CL & prem. playing most games at right back.

the reason they will get shot of him now is he fell out with fergie at the start of the season and they have plenty of youth and cover at the back. he will go for sure and happy to stick a bet on that.

he should go to leads and be your star player,

Some of the opinions of some United fans on this forum are absolutely mad, I can't get my head around it sometimes.

example?

Alberto Aquilani insists he has no problem returning to Liverpool following his season-long loan at Juventus.

The Italy international is due to return to Merseyside for pre-season training after a permanent move to Juventus fell through.

Aquilani impressed at Juve during his loan, but the Italian giants refused to pay the asking price to keep the midfielder in Turin.

The 26-year-old has previously admitted he would have preferred to have stayed in Italy, but he insists he is looking forward to returning to Liverpool.
"I return to Liverpool with great enthusiasm," Aquilani told Sky Italia."This is not a problem.

"It's not true that I didn't want to return to England."

Going to be a packed midfield at Anfield if Adam gets signed!

If Aquilani can stay injury free then he'd be a nice option for 'Pool. I'd rate him higher than Charlie Adam anyway.

Also on the subject of Arsenal I've read some absolute rubbish this morning in The Mirror. Apparently Cesc to Barcelona is expect to be done by the end of the week, with Nasri only staying if we sign Gervinho. Then we're looking at selling Squillaci, buying Cahill and Samba and then playing Vermaelen as a left back. Okay, Vermaelen has experience of playing as a full back but I don't think he has the pace for a left back in the EPL. At least make the stories believable. :p

@TransferUpdate - About an hour before Luka Modric arrive for Medical. I'll provide a exclusive picture at 2pm. #MUFC #EXCITED

Bull?

3.00 pm: "Sorry, bad source from a journalist friend of mine!"

Happened a few pages back and occurs regularly on Twitter, basically people will just post BS to get subscribers/views and then 'confess a bad source' a after the deadline for information.

He's faster than Gallas who played left back for a title winning team and he was better defensively than Cole, but worse offensively. You don't have to be the fastest player in the world to play fullback, its fairly essential to being able to be a fully fledged offensive fullback AND be able to get back to defend when required.

Clichy seems to want out, Gibbs isn't anywhere near ready to be first team, defensively he's very weak, physically he's very weak, offensively he's only had 2-3 great games, most below par. Clichy at the moment isn't playing particularly well, but Gibbs would be a pretty big step down, Vermaelen would be a HUGE step UP defensively for Arsenal at left back.

Personally I don't think Cahill is anywhere near good enough for a top 4 team, which is what we should be aiming at.

This transfer window is a joke, preseason training isn't far off, I'm fed up with Wenger waiting till August the 30th to buy completely the wrong players, again.

The best "transfer rumours" are the ones that could only have come from the manager or one of the very high up in the club.

God knows how they think it is more believable when you start talking about how the tactics of the team will change and this player will play here instead of his natural position. Muppets.

I still can't believe how inactive Arsenal have been, Verm is fine for one CB slot but Kos isn't good enough yet, Djourou looks good until he makes a mistake and Squillaci is dog.
