lol at Scott Dann... didn't know who Samba was, and when asked about interest from other clubs and why he chose Blackburn he completely skipped over it :D

I take it Chelsea are just hoping the financial fair play rules don't apply to them?

Liverpool's net spend will actually turn out to be around £0 since January once the impact of all the wages we've saved are taken into account. Pretty crazy really.

Anyone just See Scott Dann talking about his move to Blackburn? :D

"Arsenal, Liverpool we heard mentioned, why Blackburn?"

"Hmmmmmm, all I can say is I am happy it is done."

:D

"If not twice" as it was a borderline decision, I've not said one way or the other that he should have gone for that challenge. Even Utd fans admitted at the time though that had there been any contact he would have been in big trouble for that challenge.

My Spidey sense is telling me this is something I should leave alone lets just say that the should have been sent off at least once and the 2 footed tackle on Meireles in the FA Cup lines appeared to suggest you thought he should have gone for both. If that's not the case then

If I thought he should have gone for both I would have simply said he should have been sent off twice. Is that not pretty easy to understand?

As I said, the one at OT was a borderline because Meireles pulled out of the challenge. Had Meireles committed to the tackle, it could have been pretty nasty considering the way Rafael went in. I've seen players sent off for a lot less than what Rafael done, hense the 'if not twice' :)

As for people jumping at arsenals throats saying our purchases were desperate etc.

As i said all the players will of been on arsenes radar for quite a while.

Linked to arteta a year ago ;)

Yet before that he signed a new contract - http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...new-five-year-Everton-deal-article546611.html

Well as for the first part, i should stop reading your posts there as that is one of the more retarded things i have read on here, it was a two footed jump that could have caused serious injury had he not pussyd out.

You know what tackle actually did cause serious injury? Carragher doing his best to break Nani's leg in half. Anyway It appears that Baz doesn't have a (major) issue with that tackle after all anyway so you're own with that.

Also you could argue Raul had a good sub appearance against a poor deflated Arsenal side, but i suppose that'd be my prerogative and i'd be wrong, because it is not your completely logical opinion.

Why would I argue that? It's the only correct thing you've said. You're absolutely right it was a very good sub appearance by Meireles and in that sub appearance he created 2 goals which the supposedly superior Adam failed to do for the 70 minutes prior and proof that even if you dont start your better players you should certainly keep them for occasions like the Arsenal game where your not so good players have failed to do the business and you need some actual class to score some goals

If I thought he should have gone for both I would have simply said he should have been sent off twice. Is that not pretty easy to understand?

Like I said it's best we dont get into this

are arsenal fans happy?

genuine question.

defence wise you lost, clichy, eboue, traore but brought in santos and mertesacker, i would say that's okay but you guys really should have brought in a world class keeper too that would have made your back line competitive with top 4 teams.

midfield wise you lost nasri, fabregas and denilson and brought in arteta and benayoun. you guys really needed to make a big signing or 2 in midfield to make up for the loss of nasri and fabregas, but you seem to have went for the cheap option. you guys did okay with arteta and benayoun, but i reckon you could have done with a defensive mid too, you should have tried to get hargreaves on a free since you dont like spending money and love crocks.

forwards you never really lost anyone but brought in gervinho, chamberlain and park, the only one which looks any good is gervinho, but he will need time to gel. tbh why not just spend the money you spent on these 3 on 1 player, a player which you badly need, a proven goalscorer.

i dont see the logic in spending little amounts here and there, they needed to make big signings, but went for 2nd rate or even 3rd rate players or youngsters instead.

they have done okay, i think their biggest weak points are, GK, defensive mids and strikers. i can see them failing to score in a lot of games where a world class striker would have and letting in goals where a decent keeper and defensive mid would have been a great help.

arsenal are now no longer a well secure top 4 team, they should place 4-6, depending on how well they do compared with tottenham and liverpool, but why not spend that extra bit of cash on quality to secure 4th rather than risking it on youngsters or 2nd rate players?

if they get a few injuries in midfield i can see them crumbling.

im very happy with our signings especially mertesacker and arteta. Hopefully playing in champs league and for us will rejuvenate arteta and he will love his football again.

mertesacker for me is our best buy though hes gonna be so good alongside vermaalen :D

dont see a problem with our midfield at all

song
frimpong
wilshere
ramsey
benayoun
arteta
rosicky

nothing wrong with that, 7 players competing for 3 places

as for goalkeeper sczesny is quality!

I'm obviously not an Arsenal supporter but with Szczesny in goal now I wouldn't be worried in that area of the pitch and up front was the one area where Wenger needed to stop spending money on. Is Van Persie not a proven goal scorer? I know he's not the most reliable injury wise but given the system Arsenal play there's no point having another striker of RVP's calibre sitting on the bench every week (nor would you get one to)

I think GK is fine. Szczęsny I think has done nothing wrong IMO.

Defensive mids I tend to agree with, it would have been nice to get someone a little more stable than Song.

Striker I just can't disagree with anymore than I do right now.

RvP is most definitely a world class striker when fit, and last season his goals to game ratio was superb, so his goal scoring wasn't exactly bad. People like Walcott, Park, Gervinho and Chamakh are all absolutely fine as cover IMO.

I do actually think these new signings made, might actually alter the formation used a little, no idea how though. :p

edit: No idea why part of the quote is bolded, I didn't do it. :p

rvp is deadly he broke the premier league record for most goals between january and end of the season for 2010/2011

scored 18 prem goals in 19 games.

Obviously that aint good enough for some people
