*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Im getting DOMs 2 days after exercise, like leg day was Monday, Tuesday i was fine but today im struggling, is this normal? it used to be pretty much the next day for me. Maybe this is result of my foam rolling?

Normal, I can barely sit down for a poo today and I am back doing squats tonight... :o (Did squats Monday also)

I knew 2 weeks of barely any leg work was a stupid idea :/

Go and do some leg work tonight, you will die the first set but the second will feel awesome :D

the yellow plates are 15 KG
2x15KG
4x20KG
6x5KG
+ bar.

strong lift indeed. Couple of points and to make, firstly, sack your camera man, he sucks for angles :D the Deadlift is a back exercise and we can't see your back for toffee! Although keep him around for motivation, as he did say you were brilliant lol

Secondly, ditch the trainers. They are a big impairment on lifting with solid/stable form, if you think all the weight is being pushed through your feet to the floor and you've got this squishy mess of shoe designed for running in the way. You will see the benefits of taking those bad boys off.

Thirdly, make sure you get properly tight on the bar, this is even more important on rep maxes, you can see that your not tight at the start of the movement, your arms lock out in tightness just after you start the pull.

Ice has covered off the other important bits.

Really strong, and for a rep max I've seen so much worse, it wasn't bad at all, it could just be much better. Considering you have been deadlifting for what 8 weeks that's good.

<3 (nohomo)

Form shall be worked on! Running shoes will not be worn when lifting! :D

I took my trainers off yesterday for my Squats. My mate took the **** and some of the other guys were giving me looks. It does say "Trainers must be worn in the gym" on the notice board though. The reactions made me lol, ooooh /attentionwhore

I thought I got those looks too!

Don't care anymore now though, seen as the only 'big' guys I've seen squat/dead either do the same thing or have proper lifting shoes on :)

A really exciting day for me today, my sponsors advert gets released to the military in the official monthly publication of the British Army magazine – Solider.
70,000 copies have gone out today for the UK and the other 85 countries where British soldiers are serving will be released tomorrow.

The magazine will be available to the general public from next week. Now the worst part, I have not seen the advert that will feature only a shortlist of images that was selected to go forward and a few mock ups. I suspect the following image is to be used as they have just released it on their website.

In addition I have found out that each image selected will be rotated in the magazine for the next 12 months !! :o

Nice Kai, I'm pleased for you and it's good to see your hard work paying off. Your arms look immense.

The photo above, I don't like it tbh. The lighting is terrible, but you probably know that.

Made your torso look well thin, some weird shadows going on, along with the PS abs.

Looking awesome though dude, happy for you regardless, hopefully this brings on some new opportunity's :)

Cheers guys, the lighting is awful but it's like that in all the pictures. They have also done a bit of PS on my abs, and obliques. If anything the PS has reduced the definition.

Oh well they have manipulated it to how they want it, and thats something i have to accept going forward. I am just itching to get my hands on a copy to see what image they used

Got to agree with above, that photo makes you look ill, look at your sides! They look non-existent! lol. I'll look out for you in the magazine. Then I can turn round to the rest of the lads and say "don't worry, he's just another nerd on a forum like the rest of us" :D

Heh, yep. Pretty much used a smudge tool on them, tad odd.

As you've said though, you are happy with what they are doing as it is what they want I guess :)

Is the training log forum open for anyone to use/create a log in?
I'd like to track my progress a bit more and on here seems as sensible a place as any...

Totes normal. Have you been out of it for a while?

Nah i do legs at least once a week, just for some reason it is really bad DOMS this time
