Gym rats...anyone link me a good stretch prior to working on my biceps?

Seems to be one the one muscle group I can't stretch out properly.
Arms linked straight up doesn't do it for me. Arms apart or linked behind me doesn't do it either.

You'll be glad to hear there's something perfectly suited to this situation :)

Firstly make sure you have all your things with you (this is important), then to ensure you don't encounter this problem in the future make your way swiftly to the entrance of the gym and walk outside, never to return :p

:Edit: The previously posted move is normally prescribed for shoulders, no?

Verdict on Dw sports & fitness gyms anyone?

probably worth ringing them up, they usually let you have a free session to look around and get a feel of it. I've been to one of them a couple of times and it was quite good.

different LA fitness gyms (so i presume other chains might be similar) have completely different equipment from what ive experienced, in terms of how heavy db's go. so def worth checking it out first hand

Been experimenting with the deadlift.

Trying to learn the technique at low weight.

I understand you need to keep back braced and not curve the spine.

seeing as you ask so many questions, i have one for you.

Do you purposfully go out of your way to ignore the valuable content that is present in the sports areana sub-forum?

I drain at my local DW.

It's good, all relatively new and despite being open a year everything is still in good condition. Plenty of equipment & space. Though the plates aren't round which can make deadlifts interesting but generally speaking I really like it. Good value for money.

Targetted, strategic loosening up of known tight areas through mobility work in an attempt to increase range for the imminent movement is not the same as stretching your biceps before doing curls. Basically the difference between mobilising the muscle or the movement. I realise you know this, but "I stretch before a workout" can mean very different things and you never know which noobs might stand there stretching their pants off pre-workout, messing up their junk and increasing their chance of injury on your recommendation :p

My back is almost twinging in sympathy there. He's got professional coaches (I'm assuming) so why are they letting him do that?
I'd imagine they're just pandering to his ego so whatever he likes they just tell him it's all good.

Hopefully Haye will snap him properly when they fight although seeing someone like that boast about lifting and snap would go a long way in educating regular gym goers about the pitfalls of **** form.

So you would instead tell them NOT to stretch at all and risk squatting with rounding their lumbar and actually increase risk of injury? :p ;)
