*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

I did 2 days of low carbs until the evening, then i did full prep in 6 days (one of which included a few drinks on new years eve). I did 3 heavy training sessions and at the end of each i did Hiit for 10 mins. I was able to track my transition through the prep phase quite easily.
If you do your HiiT seperatly then you will defo have no problems at all speeding up the prep.

Cheers dude! :) I'm going to start my first session tonight in this horrific weather and see what happens. Brrrrr I'll keep an eye out for the stages to see where I'm at.

An old classic from me

What I've noticed is that there's always some skinny runt doing this with a maximum of 5kg on each side of the olympic bar.

Last week there were 2 of these taking turns and one of them said to the other "Curling in the squat rack - like a boss" as I went to get some plates. It took a great deal of control not to slap him with the 25 kg plate I had in my hand.

25kg plate is assualt: the 20kg one is fine, however.

Mercifully, this sort of thing isn't too prevalent in our gym as the coaches are on-site almost full-time and invite phaggots to programme-speccing and coaching sessions. However, there are the odd few, like the guy wearing gloves to squat and the other guy wearing a belt for hip-assisted pendulum bicep curlz.

Have to start somewhere! Although I admit at this time of the year when you know 80% will not be returning in a few weeks!

Funnily enough I have been doing upright rows for a few weeks and today I have a lingering pain in my left shoulder that isn't DOMS or anything positive feeling. It seems more internal, like joint or tendon/ligament. Perhaps swap out for another exercise?
