*** The 2014 Gym Rats Thread ***

Why oh why would you position the squat rack underneath a bright light, at an odd angle to it. Trying to bench I am initially annoyed by not being lined up with the lines across the roof, and then just blind from staring into the bright light.

Will be switching gyms soon though to somewhere that looks like it actually has more weight equipment than cardio, and 2 power racks. Hoping it's better than thegym.
 
Or another way to look at it not bad for a guy who gets paid millions of pounds to be in shape and has access to the best trainers/chefs/"Drs"

Indeed. If I had his time and resources... I can only dream.

Still 197kg for a couple of rough reps isn't bad at 46 I guess - but he started training late in life so we can't expect him to lift very heavy really - and his training is more about looks than power.

Hugh Jackman, not bad for a 46yr old with a busy schedule.

Not sure if he gets helped on the first lift, bar seems to raise on that side when the guy touches it.

That was awful!

One rep he gets help up, and the second he bounces it up. Quite franky his PT is rubbish and should be sacked. Lifting way too heavy for what he can lift, I can't see any benefit of a deadlift being assisted up in that manner.

But yeah someone touches on the 2nd rep too.
 
Indeed he's got access to the best trainers and the best "gear", he should be able to do whatever he is doing with a proper technique. I don't care about the weight as such.

Oh, and leave the damn wraps.

Saw this on FB... the guy is now fricking huge - looks awesome (physically) compared to nine months ago.

If Bedzhanyan (sic?) and Nurudinov are on form, it will be a truly epic battle. Neither of those guys is particularly hot in the snatch (relatively speaking, compared to Aramnau or Akkaev), but they have potentially huge Clean and Jerks...

Slow day at work so I've had a little bit of a read of the thread and there's some strong guys here!

Been training properly for about a year (two years including poor diet, and training methods) doing PPL and loving it :) Sitting at 103kg currently with 1RM bench of 122.5KG, 190KG squat and a 225KG deadlift. Hopefully gonna be a bit more active round here and learn some stuff :cool:
