I RMA’d my AIRO due to fan noise (thanks OCUK for dealing with it quickly), and the replacement card is just as bad.All the Zotac AMP Extreme AIRO owners - can you please comment on the fan (/fan motor?) noise? Apparently the cards have little/zero coil whine, but the fans are almost as bad as the coil whine on e.g. the Asus cards. Much appreciated.
I was tempted by the Zotac models, particularly the Extreme version, but I was a little concerned by the fan noise. I can tell you that the Trio and gamerock coolers are very quiet, but the Gamerock is the best overall.I RMA’d my AIRO due to fan noise (thanks OCUK for dealing with it quickly), and the replacement card is just as bad.
I even swapped it out for my Zotac AMP holo 3080 for comparison and there’s no way it should be that noisy at 30% fan speed.
I’ve no idea what I should do next, but I really can’t live with it as it is.
For the roll of honour please @Kaapstad, 4090 GameRock OC.
The cooler on this GPU is great btw, very quiet.

Just testing my Zotac 4090 Airo, and it is seems like the fan motors to me. At around 30%+ the motors just buz a lot, and there is no tuning it out either. I just rang overclockers returns department and they said they don't know anything about the issue? They want me to return it for RMA testing. How long will that take? It is within 14 days i should not have to wait for them to test it, which could take up to a week? I either want a replacement or my money back, under consumer rights. But after reading that all u fellow Airo owners are having the same issue, I guess it should be a straight refund? All the Zotac AMP Extreme AIRO owners - can you please comment on the fan (/fan motor?) noise? I dont know how to solve constant 2610mhz clock/60-70w,while card is in idle (Strix),tried in NVCP both normal perf. And maximum perf. All same, did DDU with a latest driver all same, all without msi afterburner not present on the system because with afterburner installed im loosing zero fan rpm and fans are working constant 30% 1000rpm,i have only one solution left, roll roll back 522 driver, any thoughts?
They received my RMA'd Airo late Friday afternoon, tested it Monday and sent a new card out on the Tuesday.Just testing my Zotac 4090 Airo, and it is seems like the fan motors to me. That was the only thing putting me off the Zotac cards, I've heard a few users say the fan noise is horrible. They received my RMA'd Airo late Friday afternoon, tested it Monday and sent a new card out on the Tuesday.
It really couldn't have been easier.
That said, I'm not prepared to put up with the noise, so I will contact OCUK to find out where I stand, as it's unacceptable on a £2K card.

Have you actually heard the noise that a lot of owners are complaining about? It's electromagnet in a fan that makes that noise, but your ear need to be like 5cm away to hear that.
Do you play games with GPU next to your ear?
when idling, my 4090 sometimes says 2500+ in MSI AB but when i go to task manager the gpu utilization is at or near 0% so i think in my case it's just a wrong reading in AB? i can't hear the fans either. EDIT: task manager says my gpu is at 20-35% when i'm doing nothing :/ something is not right. No idea whats going on but may have a similar problem myself now. Installed my 4090FE last night, all ran fine, on idle the clocks drop. Loaded up MSI and still all working fine. Ran the MSI OC app and now my card is stuck at 2540 on idle. Revert changed nothing.
So I have locked my card to run at 100% (again!)
It is horrible, at first I thought some of the protective film had got caught up in one of the fans. That was the only thing putting me off the Zotac cards, I've heard a few users say the fan noise is horrible.
LolI can hear it from anywhere in the front room and also from the kitchen if I get up to get a drink.
I can hear it clear as day from 3 meters away. it's awful. It's electromagnet in a fan that makes that noise, but your ear need to be like 5cm away to hear that.

It's time to join me and the GameRock crew if a quiet cooler is important to you.It is horrible, at first I thought some of the protective film had got caught up in one of the fans.
I’ve emailed OCUK to see if they can help me in any way, which after dealing with their CS previously I’m confident they will.
I would have one, but after seeing the GPU PCB breakdown video on youtube, i just cant
I wouldn't pay attention to that tbh unless you plan on using liquid nitrogen and extreme overclocking.I would have one, but after seeing the GPU PCB breakdown video on youtube, i just cant
I wonder if the standard Trinity is having the same issueI RMA’d my AIRO due to fan noise (thanks OCUK for dealing with it quickly), and the replacement card is just as bad.
