********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

I honestly dont know whether I should upgrade from a 3GS to a 4S or wait another year or so for the inevitable iphone 5.

Does the 4s do what you want.
There is no need for a speed increase the a5 can handle anything chucked at it and will maintain that way.

I can't see what other hardware can be added to a phone to make it better.

So about the only thing an ip5 would be is possibly bigger screen and a new shape, with possibly unneeded speed increase, the ip4 is fast anyway.

Question about Airplay.
What do I need to buy to mirror the photos, video etc on my iPhone to my TV?

Thanks :)

Apple TV, the new one.

Also:
The most impressive part was the demo of Siri, the new assistant that lets you do just about anything you can do on your phone -- but with your voice. We tried to psych it out with a bunch of random requests, including the history of Chester, Vermont (a lovely town) and the best Ramen places in San Francisco. Siri never faltered, never missed a beat. It worked as well as Scott's demo up on the stage. There's nothing better to say than that. We even sent ourselves a few text messages, which Siri transcribed to a T.

I think people are discounting it because they have preconceptions about old dodgy speech recognition tech. If this truly 'just works' then people will use it. If I can say 'turn off wifi' and it does it for me, or gives me directions when I ask it, that's awesome.

Can anyone remember from the preorder of the iPhone 4 - Do they take the money on the preorder date (I.e. This Friday) or do they take it on the delivery date (I.e. Next Friday)?

We've hit a point now where phone technology is getting too far ahead of the software, especially on Android.

The only thing that taxes this hardware are the games and things like HDMI mirroring. Both of these things can be handled by the iPad 2/4S/Galaxy S II with no effort at all. I wouldn't worry too much about the internals.

What are we meant to do with the quad-core chips Samsung have got ready to put into the next Galaxy phone? :p

You kinda make a good point there - theres a good chance the iP4 > iP4S change will end up being bigger than iP4S > iP5; after all the new specs arent that bad and what really needs more than a A5 DC...

iP5 could just end up being a form factor change...

Anyone know if Siri can be implemented into other non-Apple apps? Be great to set a destination by voice while driving etc...

Also I assume that Google Maps still wont have turn-by-turn implemented?
