********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

I hope so! Had a replacement unit for a hardware fault a week or so ago (this one) and my macbook pro stolen at the weekend. Now had this happen :(

Went to Apple and they would absolutely not budge on a courtesy phone. Didn't expect them to but appears the policy has changed on the 4S, probably to coincide with the AppleCare+ in the US now covering accidental damage.

So coughed up the £139 for a replacement. However this one now keeps coming up Invalid sim. Sometimes a reboot fixes and sometimes have to take sim in and out. Happened 3 times in 12 hours and even when the genius put my sim in yesterday it didn't pick up straight away. Back to Apple I go :(

Edit: This is on 5.0.1 (9A406) which was supposed to fix this issue. I never had it on any of my previous 2 phones either, will be upgraded to 5.1 tonight anyway to test before going back

Edit 2: Just tried my other Orange sim in there and it doesn't disconnect. Swapped back to my main sim and dropped in 5 minutes. Put other sim back in and fine for a few hours. Ordered new SIM from orange but least I don't have to go back to Apple again!

Hey guys I have a couple of issues with my 4s I got today!

1. I have no "+" in my contacts so can't add any contacts

Possibly multiple contact lists, exchange or something?

2. How do I reset Siri? Apparently you turn it off and on again, but that doesn't work. It still keeps calling me my mates name and thinks my mate is my dad

Say "I am <insert name here>" and it will ask if you want to be called that, can pick anything you want, like pancake.

Then say "my dad is" and give the name so it remembers the association.

Hey guys,

Am after some advice - Currently have just received a htc sensation back from htc after my desire had its 10th repair. The signal sucks on the sensation, and the screen has multiple dead pixels.

Having spoken to o2, they offered me the following to stay with them -

1100 minutes, ul text, 1gb web, o2-o2 calls and 50 mms for £37 a month with the 16gb 4s for free.

Is this a good deal?

Thanks :)

Got mine today. Screen looks a little bit yellowish I think but not to bad.

Here we go.

Noooooo I'm happy with it! :p I know I could keep exchanging till I got a perfect screen but what's the point, I'd probabaly end up with a urine yellow screen in the end!

Just lost in iOS, never used it before. Phone seems nice though, screen is horribly dull with auto brightness on, turned it straight off.

Currently updating to iOS 5.1. :)

I'd set the brightness to what you are happy with, then turn auto brightness on. This will ensure that it drops the brightness if you are in the dark and increases it even more when outside. It gives you more control than Android in this respect. It's good.

I don't know how you can get lost in iOS. :p

I had it set to medium brightness with auto brightness on, however the auto brightness didn't seem to 'kick in' for a while. My screen just stayed dull. Do I need to ramp the brightness up even more then?

Lost is the wrong word I guess, it's just all new to me.

Fiddle with it. It uses your setting as a 'base' for the brightness and then with auto toggled on, it adjusts it automatically around where you've set it on the slider.
