********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

that is good battery life

might update to 5.1 over this weekend, still running 5.0 and getting half that, lol (no broadband connection in new flat yet).

can only update over wi-fi yes ???

My battery has only lasted about 10ish hoUrs today but I have been messing with the decide a lot. Another little niggle I've noilticed, my vibrate switch feels a bit weird, when you flick it it feels like it makes a clicking sound a few times and if you put a light bit of pressure on it you can move it half way which will display some of the orange strip.

Not to fussed about it, don't think it'll cause any long term issues and if it does I have the apple warranty to fall back on.

:)

I can easily move the vibrate switch to the halfway position on my 4 if I apply the right amount of pressure. It would never end up in that position unless I was deliberately trying to do so, though.

Yeah having a look at my gf's 4 and hers does the same. Mine just feels weird when it's actually moved though, it isn't one solid movement of the button, feels like it snags a little bit in the middle.

As long as it works eh... :)

I know I'm being anal but can someone try this for me please... Go into the ringtone section and play the 'bell tower' tone, when putting my ear close to the speaker at parts I can hear my speaker crackling or something. Doesn't sound perfectly cripst but maybe this is just a limitation of the speaker? Same things happens when I'm using Siri, the second beep noise after I've asked it something always sounds a bit muffled.

Is this normal?

Another thing I've noticed... The speaker at the bottom of the device will hiss and fizz whenever you're in messaging or when you're loading data in the browser.

Why does this phone have so many issues? Worse than the GS2

Sounds like your speaker is faulty or you are hearing things. I've got a couple and both are perfect. :)

Same with the GS2 though.

Granted you can only hear the hissing when the speaker is right next to your ear, there's a few ways I can trigger it, if I play some music and pause it and listen to the speaker, I can hear the hissing noise.

Does anyone else have this or do I need to make yet another trip back to carphone warehouse?

I don't know, but given your past history I think you may be imagining the noise. :p

It's there, I've had other people in the house check it out aswell just in case. It's kind of like a static/fizzing noise, only when music is paused/keyboard is up or sending data in the browser.

My gf's and sisters iPhone 4 does it aswell.

Yes, in complete silence with the speaker right in my ear I can't hear anything.

A quick Google reveals it could be related to the kind of network you are connected to, but I'm not sure this would apply on wifi.

I turned airplane mode on, I believe this disables all data and network features? Is still happens even with it on.

The best way I can describe it is it's just like the noise you get when you put your ear next to a sea shell. :p

Would it be something I should get a replacement over? The only thing that concers me is I doubt carephone warehouse would be able to hear it inside the store.
