While I'm underwhelmed like many of you, let's recap -

Screen - the same, I'm disappointed that it hasn't been increased to 4" but it's still the best screen in the business for general use.

Design - still looks good and doesn't require all new accessories.

Camera - improved quite a bit by the sound of it, excellent news if you take a lot of pictures.

Video - 1080p, substantial improvement once again, especially with the stabilisation.

Phone features - new antenna should improve reception, that's pretty important, right?

Software - Siri could be amazing and iOS 5 improves nicely on iOS 4, even though you'll have everything bar Siri on the iPhone 4 if you have one now.

Storage - 64GB option is good news, double capacity, big upgrade.

Internals - Dual-core, etc. Should be a lot quicker in operation like the iPad 2 is now.

So, is it an essential upgrade? Absolutely not, but it's not a rubbish update either.

I still think it could have been a lot better though. Apple are going to have to start innovating a bit more in future.

Something like a phone which i have in my hand everyday yes, thats why i would never get a ios device as it's not possible to customise the interface.

innovate how? What features would you and others what. Screen is preference and I can understand that.

But as I've said before, speed increase isn't essential any more certainly not until the next OS is out.
I really can't think of features a modern phone be it apple/android/w7 needs or could innovate in a hardware sense. Plenty of software routes to explore.

The only think I would like to see is contactles payment. But that requires additional infastru true in shops, so pretty useless at the moment.

Is there something I'm missing, or people just expect the massive leap forwards we've had in the last 20years which is IMO unrealistic as we have pretty much everything. Until folding/rollable screens are released.

I think a lot of people have trolled themselves over rumours which were in fact just rumours to begin with.

I can understand a bigger screen / teardrop design being ace but we all kinda accepted the internals would be what we've guess for a while.

Maybe that design is slated for the future but I'm happy with it, can't wait to get one since I never had the iP4 but I probably understand a lot of people with the iP4 already wanting something 'new' in design.

Still you can't disagree that iOS 5 is going to make it feel like a new device anyway, even 3GS owners will enjoy that sense of a refresh with all the new features & enhancements.

PS. Good on feek for closing the other threads, its official now we don't need 3,4,5..6 threads on the subject.

Not sure if that's aimed at me, as I didn't call it rubbish. I did call it pointless though, which it is to me.

Being on PAYG, I think paying another £600 out for this really isn't worth doing for the new features. I cant't justify a contract either. :(

Just like how the iPhone 4 had new message tones and the 3GS didn't? It's the typical Apple BS excuse, to define a reason to make the new device seem special.

I hope this isn't the case.
