***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Guys it's still beta and like BF3 it took time for both sides to get the most out of their drivers for it. I've seen complaints about performance and choppyness from both sides on battlelog.

Sure way to tell would be to drop aa to 0 and see what the frame rates are. Would be pretty surprised if the titans have sli support and the gtx690's don't as surely that would also effect gtx670/680/770 etc which is a much wider user base. Reading Kaap's post above it does seem that way though. Nvidia dropped the ball big time if this is the case.

I just tried this and not much difference the FPS went from 22fps to 27fps.

I then turned off the other memory hungry options at the bottom and got up to 30fps.

Finally I set all the graphics options to low or off and still only got 40fps.

I don't think this is lack of vram, I think it is bad quad SLI support.

Sounds about right for 780 performance i think.

Someone posted this on Battlelog. 680 SLI averaging 70 ish fps at 1080p, Ultra Preset+x4AA.

I can force myself to run out or run low on vram. It does not always suddenly equal 1fps. It can present itself as lower fps, hitching, stuttering etc. Pcper's article also confirms this. The fact its regarding Nvidia cards removes any possible bias they have against AMD for now. :D

If you're truly running out of VRAM you'll be completely tanking on FPS. Getting low on VRAM (i.e. less than 50MB) had no noticeable performance impact for me over having 100-150MB free. I tested this a lot when running Surround and SLI 680s. Maybe Neil noticed the same as I know he tested loads of similar set up's.

Anything other related slowdowns means hitting other bottlenecks on the card or PC be it memory bandwidth, processing power, CPU grunt etc...

So summing up, AMD has the edge with this beta, 780's are crap, SLI ****** up and BF3 looks better?
I didn't pre order so can't play till Friday but not sure if I could be bothered to download it even then if NVidia haven't updated their drivers.
Well I'm off to Rock and a Hard Place for some ultra settings gameplay locked @120fps :D

Looks like a quad could be a bottleneck for single cards.

ty for that
is that overclocked too?
what fps is it churning out at that time?

im wondering for the ppl that play at 144hz it could be mantle making it run good on 8threads more benefit than anything gpu side

LMAO! Knew it wouldn't be long before someone mentioned mantle. How the hell can mantle be working when it isn't even released yet? :D
