***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Just got my new ssd and installed bf4 but it seems to ctd and lockup/bsod my pc an awfull lot. Nothing else does it and its fully ibt stable etc. Anyone else getting this?

I find BF4 fairly stable now. I've never had a BSOD and I don't get game crashes. I did at first with the directx error but that has stopped since the last patch.
I still get the odd server crash and the 3d blur bug but I'm using the config patch until that is sorted by Dice.

BFBC2 will still crash my stable system now. Doesn't matter what I do with it.

What 3D Blur bug? (this may be what I get, what are the symptoms?)
How do you fix it?
 
Had an other crash to desktop today after 10 mins of playing. Then played about 5 matches/3 hours straight without issue : /

Totally random.

Went 6hours+ playtime without issue after the patch as well. Weirdly when it crashed, battlelog claimed it had no connection for a bit until I refreshed the web page. never had any lock ups/sound looping/BSOD's, just these " Battlefield 4 has stopped working:

I've stopped using in game FXAA as i prefer AMD's implementation, which is MLAA. Although it comes with a slightly larger performance hit there is less blurring in my opinion.

about 18 minutes on a 64 player conquest hanain resort. mostly carnage around the centre hotel thing.

What I can't quite get, is that with a single ice q Turbo running 1200Mhz 7950I get 52fps mins, max 120 and mean of 65 on hanain resort 64player TDM in ultra. But in cross fire my mins hit 90 fps, mean 120 and max 140. (both cards set at 1150Mhz)

I Would have thought the mins would be 100-104fps?

The bad minimum scaling will be down to your CPU probably.

52 fps mins to 90 fps min isn't that bad imo.

I checked the temp logs and my cpu was throttling becuae it hit 105oC. I had a problem with my pciE slots and built my system out of the case on a mobo box without a fan on my h100i just while problem solving so it was getting a bit warm lol. (If Mantle doesn't sort out the cpu usage then I'll get an i7).

In any case I wouldn't think an i7 would give me an extra 10 frames Jono. Stopping the throttling might reduce the deficit to a few frames though.

Also, it was also quite interesting to read that the 290x at stock, had minimum fps that were 20% less than an overclocked HD7950@1200Mhz, but had 13% better Average fps (74 verse 65). The max was much higher but that could have been an, I am look in the air or corridor moment.

Also pushing 10% higher pixels.

The problem is that multi player is ultra variable so loads on cpu and gpu varie enormously, so what we need is a proper BF4 in game bench marker.

I would have thought your mins would be around 90fps in full ultra, would be the norm Matt. Does 1440 really hit mins that hard?
 
105degC? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? A passive H100 lol - there's your problem

Check your CPU usage during your games. Does it approach 99%?

The problem was sheet in the pciE ports and slight pin misalignment.

I just built it outside the case as you guys suggested to figure out the problem without a fan attached. Which praise the lord, seems to be resolved now.

I use the h100i with dual fans, so temps normally stay at 97-102oC when I hit 4.7Ghz.


When the game is transitioning from map to map sometimes cpu usage peaks at 100% but thats a programming/code issue most likely, because it settles at mostly 90% in game.
