***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Got my 780ti yesterday. Paired with a 2500k im averaging around 75 with drops to 40 to 50 during action moments. This is everything at ultra with HBAO and 4x mxaa. Much smoother than my old cfx 5850s but a bit disappointed I don't get 60+ constantly

Had a bit of a look around and came up with theese.

cpu

Mobo

Ram

The board linked is one of the most popular ones on here and gets reccomended 9/10 for hw builds. Incredibly good value and an overclockers dream. Faster ram kit too than the one in the bundle. Depending on what your cooler is and wether it has a bracket for s1150 and your good to go. The above comes to £488.57 incl vat and shipping.

I have a Corsair H50 so I can't use that mate.

That lot is a lot better than what I would have chosen thanks.

Would think your 2500K might be a bit of a bottleneck in BF4, it loves more cores/threads I think that a standard quad core.

Probably expecting a bit much at 1440p from a single 780ti.

It won't bottleneck a single gpu, especially if he has any sort of overclock on it.

I upgraded from 7950>680, notice a big different the image quality is a lot better on the same setting. So lucky to get rid of the 7950 for £220 on the bay and bought myself a gtx 680 for £140.

Around 40-60fps i'd say perhaps with the 6950s, don't get a 270, it's slower than your current setup and won't be at all pleasant for 1440p unless you play with low settings.

if i was you, i'd sell the 6950s and get either a 290 or 780.

Tahiti LE Throttles if you don't set it up right, thats why the standard 7870, Tahiti LE and Tahiti LE @ 1200Mhz are all with in 3% of eachother on Metro 2033. That game is also very CPU heavy, the CPU throttles the GPU through half the bench, the better the CPU the better the GPU performance.

I just ran a bench @ 1200 / 1563 on High preset 1080P, 82 FPS heavily throttled by the CPU, the CPU they used is an i7 3960X @ 4.7Ghz.

I don't have any of the other games installed, but at 1200 / 1575 i score 9847 on 3DMark 11, they have it 8990 @ 1208 / 1600.

I've got to the bottom of my problem with this game. and my crossfired 7970s.

For some reason the default graphics setting for the display mode was borderless.

I changed it to fullscreen and have gained a massive improvement in FPS.

I never thought that it would matter but it has and i'm over the moon :)

Obviously crossfire needs to be in fullscreen to run in crossfire.

I'm not seeing dips of 45 FPS anymore and have saved myself £600 notes :D

Schoolboy error on my part?

No game works in Crossfire if you are in windowed mode.
