***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Wont hurt to try it one last time...i have you guys added still, so might join one of your games this weekend.

Sure. If i see either of you playing i will hop on. Truth be told i think i need a lot of practice to get back to my former self in this game.

I need divine intervention to get better

Lol. You had a blazing start to be fair. You were 5-2 and i was 0-4 at the start, but lets forget about that. :p

I noticed you have a habit to rush in blindly. A few times i knew there was loads of enemies round the corner camping, but you'd just spawn on me and go sprinting round the corner only to get mowed down quicker than i could say bernard matthews lol.

Hardcore rewards those who sit still in a corner :D. Normal is by no means perfect but it's more fun to be a lone gunner and there's a bigger reward for individual skill

This was playing easy mode, aka Normal. Not my cup of tea if im honest as i prefer hardcore without the doritos, crosshairs, regenerating health and mini map hacks but i wanted to play with scotty. I'm not a one trick pony though and will play both modes if needed. :)

The frame latency charts will always look good for a single gpu as you only have one gpu producing the frames so its always more consistent. The game definitely feels a bit better the past couple of days. Theres still an issue though, a repeating cpu spike that drops my fps (sometimes dramatically) for a second or two. Sometimes it can last a few seconds, or even 10 seconds. Although i can feel the drop and i can see it on the overlay it does not affect the gameplay experience too much i find. Its not like it is a noticeable spike/dip in performance like it was a few days ago. I just hope they can fix it sooner or later. Its annoying when they have had it working perfectly then they manage to break it again.

True mate, and tbh in still debating wether to go sli or buy a new z97 mobo and a 4790k cpu. Extra gpu horsepower would be nice for games, but this current cpu is very disappointing. If however 4790k works in z87 ill be all over it like a fly on dung.

Second 780 IMO mate. Your cpu with decent memory will still be plenty fast enough and probably just as fast (if not faster) as my higher clocked sandy cpu.

4.5 on hw is about equivalent to 4.9 Ono on sb, found the chip in sig at 4.2 matched my 4.5 3770k in benches. But the hw runs way too hot despite less voltage for the oc in sig, fantastic for ram oc'd though.

I can't see the point in you changing cpu with only one one gpu mate if im honest. As much as id like to see you on Mantle, that's never going to happen. So your best bet will be a second 780 and a possible (future) monitor upgrade. The higher res you go, the less you'll need a faster cpu. :)

EDIT

Don't worry about the cpu temps, so its running a few c hotter than most. It won't make any difference and won't affect its life expectancy so stop worrying. I used to fret if my cpu went over 65C but now ive stopped worrying. Today playing BF4 with scotty it reached 68C at 5ghz, but i didn't bat an eyelid. You can be sure it will reach the 70's when summer hits peak.

Ill wait and see how devils canyon pans out then decide guys. If it works on z87 ill go for it and another 780. Board in sig is way too good to get shot of at the mo. Ive barely had it 7 months.

The games running nicely for me on these latest betas (I've not played it in some time)

Not sure how this compares, minimum seems low.

CPU was at 4.5 Tri Sli 780Ti at stock (boost 1124/1750)

Full round in Metro 2014 Rush (64 man) Ultra Preset 4xMSAA @ 1440P (20 minutes)

You can compare it to mine if you like. I was getting some cpu spikes and performance drops during my run, will run again when dice fix it. I'd expect slightly better results but not too much of a difference.

290 Crossfire - Mantle
1440P Ultra Preset results
Metro 64 CQ Large Featuring Whyscotty (both of us dieing a lot) :(

Will run again when Dice fix the cpu spikes. It was not too bad this time though.
