***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Snap :D

Though with less bells and whistles, damn 3gb cards :(

Awesome Paul. I have been begging to have a play with G-Sync and with the price of that G-Sync Acer model using the same panel as my Samsung 4K, I couldn't say no.

I will be giving a review as well and testing plenty of games. Gonna be tough with BF4, as even at 4K it was smooth with Titans, so not sure what I will notice but from all accounts, I will notice.

Looking forward to your feedback as well.

Can't wait either, the ultimate test too in dropping 120hz for 60hz.

Hopefully I'll get one of the early batch in august (if it happens) as I would guess I was one of the first 5 to get a pre-order in :D

Most of my testing will be focused at the '3gb is useless for 4k' crowd

I honestly don't think it will be a major issue outside of a select few games and in those games I wouldn't expect playable frames. Different story perhaps with 3-4 3/4gb cards but dual cards not so much.

Remember to start at least one thread for each game you try G-Sync with and then possibly another with all of them in.
Judging by Mantle and Mantle games that the way it should be done. :)

I am pretty excited in a massive Geek way but will keep it to one thread. I am just hoping the hype is true and G-Sync is all that. :)

I think 4k will be the ultimate test for gsync, if it does what it says on the tin, the minimums we're likely to see should go for the most part unnoticed

G sync and 4k, sounds very nice. Those Acer G sync monitors ocuk are doing look interesting. Was tempted by the Asus ROG swift, but the price is a bit steep. Seems that whenever you slap the initials ROG on something the price just skyrockets.

Agreed. My Titans hold up pretty well in most games but the occasional game it does drop and this is where it notices for me. I am hoping G-Sync will bring smoothness to the lower frames and from what I have read, it will. nVidia claimed that 40 fps would feel like 60 (or something like that).

Played a game earlier and for no reason other than to show my frames and smoothness, here is me playing BF4 :D

Just finished uploading, so will take a while for it to get full 1080P.

Nice one, will watch it when the quality is better and may even put up a comparison. ;)

What clocks did you use on cpu/gpu?

4.6ghz on the CPU and the GPUs were stock custom BIOS, so 867/3002. It was more about showing the smoothness and it felt and played very smooth to me. I am sure Mantle will hammer my frames (and should do) :)

Actually you'll probably have higher frames than me as i have to record in windowed mode to be able to record Mantle footage. That means i only get 70% scaling per gpu so performance takes a big hit and i have the hit on performance from recording to AVI at the same time as i can't use the H264 encoder on my gpus yet in crossfire. Currently only single card is supported in GameDVR. I might have a go still mind. :p

It's cool. I watched Shankly's vid and that was nice and smooth (as much as youtube allows). ShadowPlay does have a fair hit on frames with anything 64bit as well but not enough to worry about.

Looks pretty smooth, and going by your performance graphs, none of the crazy high yellow cpu spikes i get.

I get a big stutter once in a blue moon and the yellow line actually breaks the top off of my monitor but I can put up with that. I feel at times that servers don't help or even high pings.

Can only assume it is a server issue. Three different haswell cpu's at stock or oc'd and its still the same.
