Still on w7 here mate, will be making the switch to 8.1 soon though.
Just do it bud, ignore all the haters of it, yes its different to win7, but it works incredibly well.
I was a massive coward when it came to W8 but so easy to use and I never use the Metro screen and only desktop. It took 5mins to get used to, as everything is similar to W7. Worth the move I say Rob.
Played a game earlier and for no reason other than to show my frames and smoothness, here is me playing BF4
Just finished uploading, so will take a while for it to get full 1080P.
Had a round of bf4 just now. Odd spike or two here and there but generally pretty good. Hardcore server so reg was much better than normal. Currently running a stock system to bed in yet another cpu. Will see if i can get the nephew to bring me up a copy of 8.1 this weekend.
Lol, the quest for a good un. Swapped my L3 2013 4790k for Tonester's L4 2014 chip, (he bought two). Vid on mine was 1.264, this one is 1.200. Most i eeked out of the first one was 4.8ghz for a few benches, not stable in games though.Lol, your cpu obsession is an illness bud.
Looking forward to that, being a 4gb user.
I have learned patience so i can wait i am not fond of the 290x or 780 to be fair it is very late now in the lifecycle for £400 and £550 and then have to compete on the MM with cleaned up cards a lot older.
Im curious as to the minimums in heavy action with two though, I reckon if i can chop 30% off whatever people get i could judge maybe if it is even worth waiting. Or as you say look for a cheap 290X somewhere and hold out for 16nm.
