Performance is atrocious! Stuttering like a mofo, even on LOW settings. On the Auto settings, I have nearly maxed GPU Memory usage (like 1965 MB) and on the lowest its about 1800....

Make sure full screen is enabled explicitly in the menu. You'll need this to have SLI working and by default it's windowed mode .

Also make sure you've got the latest beta drivers installed as they contain the SLI profile.

1965MB is fine - I used to run similar level at triple screen res with SLI 680s with performance OK all things considered .

Interesting i get silly high fps on low/medium/high , but even on these low settings i still get a big cpu spike every now and then which doesn't make things smooth.

Should be ok with most single gpu solutions so long as you apply a good overclock. However the cpu won't have enough grunt to effectively power two gpu's. This is based on beta performance and could improve come the final build.

i duno most the tests ive seen on here have been done at ultra settings where 1 card really limits the fps

for people playing on lower settings trying to get high fps, we've not seen how taxing that is to the cpu yet

So i have had a few hours on BF3 in the past few days to get in gear for BF4 Beta tomorrow and i'm wondering how my BF4 perf is gona be compared to BF3

Few stats here..

7950 @ 1100/1600
2700K @ 4.5GHz
Oh.. Windows 7

BF3 fully maxed Ultra settings 4xMSAA @ 1080p

Fraps MinMaxAvg and screenshot taken after about an hour of play..

Frames, 16441
Time (ms), 209176
Min, 59
Max, 151
Avg, 78.599

What i'm getting at is people seem to be thinking they need to upgrade their comps for this game but i'm looking at only using 2xMSAA in BF4 anyway which is what i usually do in BF3

Heres my BF3 stats screenshot which i'll be comparing BF4 Beta to,i'll be doing the same screenshot for BF4 with same maxed settings.

Just thought it would be a good idea to compare the 2 games with same settings on same system as i havnt seen anybody do this yet.

I'll be back with the comparison as soon as..

Ultra all the way Mei. Its not smooth though. Game needs work. That said if i drop the preset i get more fps than i can shake a stick at. What settings do you run Mei?

It doesn't quite seem right that this rig aces BF3 so well, and yet this game, even in Beta, appears to be so broken.

i dont get to try until tomorrow! i didnt pre-buy this dumb game
i think i will try test any difference between windows 7 & 8 tho

id like see more tests at 144hz bcos thats what i would play at if i was trying, i only have my sony screen in bedroom to play on right now tho which is 60hz, and kinda too big for fps ><

Gave up on this tonight, crash after crash!!! On latest beta drivers & already updated Punkbuster, tried resetting overclocks but made no difference. Game just doesn't like me


Still can't wait for finished game though

Anyone know if there is a new build for going up for the open beta?
No reason there should be I guess, just thought it might be an opportune time to roll out a new build.

Also, is the open BETA open to everyone or do you still have to have pre-ordered?
I expect I will pre-order, just waiting to see what the cheapest option is. Although thinking about it I guess you'd have to have paid Origin's extortionate prices to have a pre-order that Origin knows about.

I just put on the AMD 13.10 Beta2 drivers and can't get CCC to work

Keep getting this error:

I uninstalled CCC to try the drivers but performance wasn't that amazing was getting huge fps drops & the game looked like TF2

I re-installed the frameworks (dotnet, c++ etc) that are in the drivers and also tried re-installing CCC but it seems to be the same

Use driversweeper and take it back to VGA.

Re-install with Beta 2.

Nothing wrong with TF2, it's just stylised...

I got it working now

Was something to do with my firewall protection think it was locking down processes so had to add MOM.exe, CCC.exe & CLIstart.exe to the system files list. (seems weird as 13.4 drivers worked ok without doing this)
Then had to re-install it all again over the top

The fps doesn't seem much different to the 13.4 drivers but I only have a HD5770

Because you're on LOW!!!
You're stressing the CPU so much, bet those GPUs were at like <50% usage?

The game doesn't seem anymore CPU demanding that the likes of BF3 in terms of usage, it's just it doesn't pull as many frames?? Love those minimums though, must be VRAM related
